We had 1000's well into the 90's in Canada. I got to hold one as a kid. Apparently 98% of them have fallen into mafia hands somehow which I find hilarious given our history. Especially since they can't get them back, want them back, and if used they have to be honoured. It must drive certain people crazy.

For a lot of people when it "works" for them is when they discover they no longer need the drug at all and feel they know more about themselves. You describe it here:

"Most people realize that their psychonautic journey is at best leading them in circles, and at worst is causing their life to spiral down the drain. So they give it up, get a job without 9pm slack messages (or find a better way to adjust to stress), marry someone who isn't constantly on the verge of cheating, start doing regular exercise, and generally find a way to settle into a reasonably balanced life."

Perhaps this period of self examination is what leads so many to such similar conclusions?

Have the ability and work ethic to do that is good. Actually spending your whole waking life at work is bad. You only get one life.

The only reason we have electric cars being pushed as much as they are is because of Tesla, specifically Elon Musk. It is not some government program. If it weren't for them we would have the Nissan Leaf and that is about it. And it wouldn't have half the performance that even it has today.

Short answer: Monied interests don't really care, or don't think it is possible or feasible.

The worst part about this case was in the custody situations. Even if as a parent you prove the test was false, if they take your kid early enough and for long enough they still won't let you have your kid back. Even if you are totally innocent. And that time span is relatively short.

Agreed. They could have put other limits in place easily. I have to assume they figured battery technology would get better allowing for these advances.

Good bye drone laws!! 250g is the limit before you need a license in Canada!

All of these seem to require a significant investment of time before the interview process gets kicked off, which is uninclusive because it biases the hiring process against candidates whose time outside of the office is consumed by taking care of their children.

You have to be kidding me. It also is biased against people whose time is spent playing video games or who do nothing at all.

Some jobs are meant for people at a certain point in their career. Sometimes you don't get to have everything at the same time.

People like you would argue it would be better to shut down hospitals than let doctors work long hours because those long hours might make women not want to do the job.
