It's at times like this that I'm reminded of what Howard Scott said: "A criminal is a person with predatory instincts who hasn't sufficient capital to form a corporation."
Funny how access to enough money to form a corporation, does in certain circumstances tend to clothe your subsequent actions in virtue...
I couldn't agree more - and after all the misdirection, I'm rather looking forward to finding commentators of integrity once again. And I think the search for honest commentary will be part of the pleasure of restoring our trust in one another once again.

Regarding your comment about behavioral management at scale. Carl Sagan once said: "If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back."
It would be interesting to know if this were true in that case.
