1) authoritarian regime takes your guns and ability to defend yourself
2) it will criminalise normal behavior, so it can prosecute anyone at will (everyone has to break laws)
3) it tries to destroy family

Git repo can have executable code! Git hooks are shell commands stored in dir ".git/hooks" executed on events such as merge, commit... That is not duplicated by git clone, I am not sure about bundles. But I would be VERY careful to accept something like compressed git repo from anyone!
There are legal sanctions for refusing to update software in a car, and for blocking it from internet. There is no way out!
With respect, parent comment is right. It is "just" destiled water with some salts. You also have to remove dissolved gasses and store it in good bags. Tricky part are contaminants and paperwork.
We had similar situation in communist czechoslovakia. There was a plan to manufacture female hygiene products, in a single factory for entire country. This factory burned down on second year of five year plan. So for some time our ladies were forced to use toilet paper. We still managed to make IV fluids though!
My guess US planning is a bit similar. Too special to import medical supplies from neighbours or from Europe.
Good microwaves have a microphone to detect popping. Popcorn option on microwave is a real feature.
Just do not buy cheap Amazon junk!

Promotion often comes with more work, more responsibilities, more meetings, more commute to office... with only marginal pay increase. In reality you lose salary (as dollars per hour).
I turned down promotion a few years back. I would "manage" three people, in reality doing their work. I would lose home office, and have to find babysitter. I would spend 80 minutes in traffic every day, paying for my own car and my own gas! No time left for cooking, so food delivery! All for generous pay increase of 20%!
This "promotion" would ruin my family life, and reduce my disposable income by half!
