You must have read headings only. It’s a useless slop past hello world. Lots of slop.

There's no "one country making lithography machines". The mirrors come from Germany already. Other parts from about 160 other countries around the world. The EUV tech itself is an American invention and was picked up by ASML. That is why USA has the say in who gets it.

How do you expect those people footing most of the bill to give up their status quo and voluntarily sign up for something like this?

If you do not see how someone like US or China can play 27 individual countries and divide Europe by propping one nation and discrediting another, for example recent Trump admin meddling with Poland, or Musk fiddling with German and Spanish government, then it's going to be difficult having this discussion with you.

Another aspect... Spain stopped being a dictatorship 51 years ago, half of the continent was under Soviet influence until something like 35 years ago, communist for that matter. The continent has been consolidated over the last half a century. Painting EU as the root of all evil is not a way forward.

The point isn’t about the tech, there’s a different balance of tech vs society in Star Trek and The Jetsons. You see, in Star Trek only a selected group travel far and beyond. The rest sits on this planet. You don’t watch Kirk speaking to his robot cleaner, sending kids to school, and flying shopping.

As Graydon points out, “The Jetsons” was a projection of the model American family into the future.

This is a completely different setting than Star Trek Fleet Command thing.

- 6 months of "probation", with only 2 weeks of notice

Talk to Arbeitsamt, hiring in Germany is a huge risk as soon as your company is 10+ people. By the way, the two weeks notice goes both ways. There’s a risk on both sides.

- And all after 4-6 years of degree/s and 4-5 years of experience (so around 10 years of investment)

Everyone is a Doktor there so your investment is most likely worthless. You did your reps at the Uni, profs instilled into you that you’re crème de la crème, but can you do the job, or are you just good at following orders.

I don’t know, I’m not the one smoking. That’s their problem to solve.

It’s your problem not theirs. It bothers you, not them. They probably don’t even know it bothers you. Are you really surrounded by smokers and cannot open a window all day and night? Dude, let me tell you… you’re making your own life difficult. There are full buildings where smoking is forbidden. Make your own life easy, don’t harass others with your truths. If you don’t care why do you expect others to care.

I don’t think they’d like it if I left a bucket of rotting fish on my balcony.

Are you comparing a cigarette smoke to full infestation?

Yeah, it’s simply pissing me off that no person noticed the only abnormal behaviour here is the dude labelling the whole category of human beings as “awful” without trying to understand their motives. Selfish and entitled on a boss level.

Are those who smoke on a top floor balcony also awful? Are those who smoke on a balcony of a multi-storey building they live alone in also awful people?

You want to have children? Cool. Made a mistake? Deal with it. Don’t make it sound like you are doing others a favour by having children though. “The society” will be fine without them. There are plenty out there nobody cares about.

Maybe. Go and ask them. Maybe they are truly awful people, maybe they are old or ill, or disabled. Go and talk to them, then start labelling them x and y. See? No one got the idea. All “you” want is that nobody bothers “you”. But thinking from the perspective of others? No, that’s too difficult. The best realisation I had in life was that I am pissing others off for some reasons, as they piss me off for some other reasons. Unfortunately the majority of the lovely “society” doesn’t have that realisation.
