I completely agree. As I pointed out below, following the path you suggested, if the filetype has to change to fix the require regression, they could use .es. Would it be surprising to use .es with ECMAScript? No.
You could support .es file types which would work just as well and is more succinct than .mjs, but AFAIK the group won’t because of “branding” issues. Bull. Use .es. Standard semantics for ECMSScript which is the name of the language, no games or pretence.

It depends on the context. Personally, the trigger points are:
- ever evolving problem domain research manifesting as architectural doubt
- underspecification
- unforeseen integration issues with host API or environment (pattern collision, resource collision)
- F.O.M.O i.e. ego corrupted view of the problem
- cognitive fatigue

Don't you mean talking to humans that you work with and build solutions for? The term 'user' depersonalises the relationship, and yes, you do need to take care, and so do they, but there are better means. Structure your business relationship and build order first to maintain clarity should the need arise. Bind that agreement on ethics not need. If you do not want a relationship with clients or prospective clients, perhaps use your engineering skills in an existing organisation that shields you from the interaction. Otherwise, honest personal contact is best. Your abilities should be evident in response to need, not assertion of need. Be prepared to skilfully manage emergency situations that are not your own.
I have no idea what your platform or experience level is, but if you have macOS, then maybe MAMP is worth a shot. You could set up your own personal Wordpress blog and only expose the upload interface?

Good question. I do not know but I would guess that your domain hosting company and the range of IP addresses it uses could be blacklisted, or, the email provider has a well known data signature that vendors associate with spam bots and again, blacklisted. I would be interested to know myself. Best guess; perhaps change email provider or hosting company and see if situation can be replicated. Ensure your email addresses have not been compromised.
