they call it Promethean Spas... Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock where an eagle daily tore at his liver.

fantastic work.

PSA: if you still think its not the time to fight for your rights for the status quo in privacy you will come to regret it. If you are the type of person who reads this type of news and thinks: "cool the system is working, it'll sort itself out" you will come to regret it.

you will need to become more active or it will be taken away

I love how you can think about any of these ideas in a really basic way like a 5 year old and you'll know intuitively that it'll all fail, particularly if you invert it:

for example:

- bureaucracy creates less bureaucracy

- price controls create more supply

- adding more rules creates more freedom

- government is good at understanding technology

- the more people you have the better your decisions will be

- the further someone is from a problem, the better they can solve it

etc

Ollama Web Search 10 months ago

I am just working on a tool using websearch and iterating over different providers.

openAI, xAI, gemini all suffer from not being allowed on respective competitor sites.

this searched works for me with some quick tests well on YT videos, which OpenAI web search can't access. It kind of failed on X but sometimes returned ok relevant results. Definitely hit and miss but on average good

I respect your opinion, I have children and I dont want to tell other parents what to do. please take it as an exploration of a what real necessity is and what the notion of better is in which context.

I fundamentally disagree that making life easy is the right thing.

what I am trying to say is, the feedback loop from a) forgetting something or b) the experience of missing out on something because of aspects of life that are out of ones control is so much better IMO and the phone is just 'convenient'

Of course that doesnt mean I prefer my child to be run over or die instead of protecting her/him or helping her/him

THIS is it.

even all the above reasons are not actual reasons. None of these are a problem. you job is NOT to bring something to school because she forgot it nor to drive her to school if the bus doesnt show up.

the biggest thread to music is the audience.

a machine doing any of this would be not causing a meltdown by musicians in the 80s. A punk rock band would not feel threatened by this neither would be Prince.

the sad truth is human output is so averaged out now, that most of it will be replaced.

great subject let down by an annoyingly weak article that focuses on memes for whatever reason.

another great unexpected music x font crossover is gucci mane tweeting about "Times New Roman"

yeah for sure he invented a premise to then write an article about something thats rhetorical. how does that thinking make sense.

Airbnb struggled for a while (in his opinion) until he changed his management style organized the whole company around a release cylce (and other bits I cant remember) and taking on much bigger responsibility for design (UI UX). its super interesting stuff. its not new actually and I saw him speaking about multiple times on youtube. https://www.perplexity.ai/search/brian-chesky-interview-orga...

The point is by doing you become really good in creative fields. in any field. Prompting is not doing. What makes you a really good programmer? Writing code.

the pursuit of mastery is at the essence of any craft.

Sorry, but this is a 5th-grade take everyone on tech-heavy forums loves.

Only some people can make Star Wars (the pinnacle of independent filmmaking if you read Lucas's biography). It has nothing to do with the tools.

IP in the arts is how artists get paid.

I can assure you that no one in the creative industry feels liberated by these tools. Do you realise that just because you are good at lighting, you don't want to be an actor and make a movie? No, you like to be good at lightning, work with others who are good at what you do, and create a great work of art together.

AI imagery only knows what exists. It's tough to make it do innovative technical effects and great new lightning. "oh my god, stock video sites are dead" Yes, exactly; stock, by definition, is commoditised.

I am a CG artist and Director and this made me so sad. I am watching in horror and amazement. I am not anti AI at all, but being on the wrong side of efficiency, for the individual this is heartbreaking. its so much fun to make CG and create shots and the reason its hard (just like anything) makes it rewarding.

no one does any heavy graphics work a mac anymore. especially for their showcases of rendering... its all nvidia GPU based for creation and rendered on farms anyway. Same with resolve.

Apple is so dumb.

Yes agreed. By all means: DO NOT BUY RAZER.

My two friends and I own RAZER laptops, and the batteries have swollen up in them. It's impossible to contact support too, and you won't be able to get it replaced within a year of warranty.

yo just adding my two cents here regarding the presentation.

I am sure this is the coolest thing going because we all know the quality of your work.

If the idea is to get new people playing with the library it would really help simplifying everything. I do actually like the idea of adopting a landing page style design... (hinted at in some of the other comments_ there are reasons why they work.

the website feels cryptic and doesn't give a point of entry ("start here", "look at this thing doing something")

there is way too much text in my opinion, its more of a showcase of commits and terminology than of the project.
