Apart from this law-trickery used here: The EU could be a thing that helps fixing the problems that the single nations cannot overcome, even if it becomes unpopular. Fixing climate change involves completely restricting fossil fuel AND harvesting existing greenhouse gases (which costs additional energy) until the atmosphere is back to 1800. No government of this world spoke this truth to its people, because after the next election that government would be no more.

Goodbye to Sora 4 months ago

Yes, Sam Altman was talking about how he lost you on his blog and how it lead to Sora's downfall :D But honestly... I believe this too. There's just no value.

Thinking back, there really should be some lessions that send students off to solve user problems after having learned a programming language, where there is a much easier solution without having to program something. Some refinement sessions that teach them how to understand the problems.

Great post! And I must admit that this must be the best website I've encountered in ages. The mix of oldschool OS with the pixelated font.. Perfect!

Communicating process is a top-notch hint. Getting everyone involved in meetings to the have the same context and expectations about the common goals is never easy.

In Germany many stores still accept cash and some even only accept cash and we are ridiculed for this... Seems like one of the rare instances where this is useful :D

You could imagine that it won't work for long after publishing this. I would've either used it for myself and my friends or messaged the city about this straight away, so they can avoid things like that.

I don't like these kind of apps that allow people to be smart around regulations that should apply for everyone.

This perfectly describes one of the biggest dillema with AI. Where does an AI company stop to utilize human knowledge it does not actually own. Where do they draw the line. Apparently it's possible there aren't any lines drawn at all.

Poor poor... I always felt that too many people in hr decision making underestimate the role of talent. Many awesome software products stem from teams with extraordinary talent. Average people create average software.

I'm not sure this thing would fare well in a crash test.

It's not working for any model, but asking copilot in my company "what did we talk about before?" at the beginning of a new chat will always result in this:

"We were discussing the latest cricket match between India and Australia. Australia won the match by 21 runs, securing the series 2-1. Is there anything specific you'd like to know more about? "

When i continue with "and before that?":

"Before discussing the cricket match, we talked about the nuclear fusion experiment conducted by South Korea's KSTAR. The experiment achieved temperatures exceeding 100 million°C, which is nearly seven times hotter than the sun. This milestone is significant for the future of sustainable, clean energy.

Is there anything else you'd like to revisit or explore further? "

It somewhat changes. Weeks ago he always said "tokamak" instead of "KSTAR".

Found this gem in Recorder.cpp of generals:

//Kris: Patch 1.01 November 10, 2003 (integrated changes from Matt Campbell)
// Since we don't seem to have any *visible* desyncs when replaying games, but get this warning
// virtually every replay, the assumption is our CRC checking is faulty. Since we're at the
// tail end of patch season, let's just disable the message, and hope the users believe the
// problem is fixed. -MDC 3/20/2003
  //TheInGameUI->message("GUI:CRCMismatch");

Very good! I love it! Hope he keeps programming. Tell him i played against a flying snake and won with every calculation right! :) I loved the animation. There is ofc always ways to improve this but I think this is a very good result!

An easy thing to improve would be to center the screen. Then it would be easier to play for people with larger screens or on large tablet screens.
