would allow a province within their country to hold a sovereign wealth fund worth hundreds of billions, or even over a trillion dollars.

This is Alberta we are talking about? If in your hypothetical the Federal Government didn't mess it up the Province would.

Thanks for the post, I've been doing most of what you suggested except for the auto adding of tasks to my schedule, that is a great idea. Thanks.

It feels to me like having 144 profit on a 300 acre farm is closer to an accounting / tax choice then true measure of profitability. Another poster mentions writing off all equipment during the first year in that calculation.

"Like maybe stay in a prison cell for a few months. Then yea, it's a pretty fun read."

You must know the history of Cervantes and meant the above in reference to his time in prison otherwise this is quite hilarious and profoundly the funniest thing I have read in a long time.

Debian 11 5 years ago

Actually I was setting up a new laptop two weeks ago and installed Debian 10 because I had it on USB, when I booted I couldn't get the WiFi to work, because the kernel for Debian 10 was too old. So using the ethernet port I updated to debian testing (which was had frozen for 11) and installed the wifi firmware. Boom I had my wifi working.

Today I apt-get updated again and the same machine now reports it's on debian 11. It's pretty painless to be honest upgrading. Just follow the basic apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade.

I don't necessarily disagree but do you believe most people grow up in a dysfunctional family as outlined in the linked article as you stated?

Like having at least one parent with some issue that leaves the child with trauma? This is most people's experience?

I do not subscribe to the parents idea in their comment of that because they had an hour traveling of free time per day, they should get that same time at the same time of day now they are not travelling.

I think it is hilarious how quickly and flippantly you solved the problem by saying "heck" get your wife to take care of the kid and go outside for an hour guy. I certainly am not prescribing anyone travel an hour a day just to get their own free time.

If you have a wife and kids I wish you all the best.

The parent comment specifically mentioned toddlers being around. So maybe it is about kids?

I think you framed the whole thing in such a way I can't get my head around.

Why not simply "heck" take the hour you need after your infants asleep or been played with and you you've at least acknowledged your partner?

Most people start from a place where they say "I am completely normal and everything I do is normal" and reason from there.

For a person to acknowledge their trauma they must be wanting to be free of it and at least be able to see them themselves for who they truly are.

Your idea that most people have experienced trauma growing up of some form, but few want to admit to such really does not surprise me.

What is with the "particular type of trauma" idea? While they are not the same at all I don't see the value in any hierarchy of trauma. Trauma is an individual's inability to cope with an experience.

Well just so you know the past populations were not necessarily more in love with the treatment of indigenous.

Here is an editorial from 1888 about the first Prime Minister of Canada and his starvation of indigenous, doesn't necessarily seem to me that everyone was on board with the treatment back in 1888.[1]

Also a better chance of what succeeding? Do you know the history of Canada? The displacement of indigenous was the point of the policies.

If you investigate you will find that the CURRENT Canadian Government released a report saying the CURRENT treatment of indigenous in Canada is an ongoing genocide. Specifically for the eradication of culture you mentioned.

Matters very little what people like yourself who are far away from any impacts want to call it, it's still happening.

Well except for the link that I posted that specifically said : *Please note for all dashboards that as of March 12, community samples are no longer being routinely tested for non-COVID respiratory pathogens including flu.

And that they at least show non zero results for past years.

Well this is from the early part of 2020 for Alberta.

**Please note for all dashboards that as of March 12, community samples are no longer being routinely tested for non-COVID respiratory pathogens including flu.

And if you look at the 2020 - 2021 dashboard

https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/influenza/influenza.asp...

You'll see they don't have any test information for Influenza.

I may be misunderstanding this as it is hard to make sense how the governments statistics show no testing and that news article you mentioned with the chief medical officer for the province saying otherwise.

In the province I'm familiar with the Provincial government has canceled all testing for the common Flu unless your in the hospital. This is being misconstrued as the flu disappearing in my province which is obviously true because it's not being test for.

It's not being tested for because they are prioritizing COVID-19 testing, unless your hospitalized.
