Fermi's paradox isn't what you've stated.
Listen to the scientists. Not the politicians. Not the military.
And when we had the evidence we changed our minds. Just like it should be.
So the question should be why are so many people believing in aliens when there is so little evidence for them?
Breaking Special Relativity is not some 15th century "oh, there's some lovely dirt down here" impressionable pleb. We have machines that can confirm SR to within ridiculous level.
What do you want people to do.
I see lot of "close minded" people looking at the evidence and concluding that it's not enough evidence to conclude aliens are visiting us.
It looks like these UAPs are everywhere but the evidence is so low level that I wouldn't even conclude they aren't just planes or ducks instead.
The people that believe that these UAP seem to think there is both a Fermi paradox and reverse Fermi Paradox at the same time.
A lot of things would be demonstratively broken if Special Relativity is wrong.
I want a whole group of scientists to investigate the evidence.
I don't trust the military or Congress since they're happy to spend money on ESP or telekinesis studies and still not be able to reach a conclusion.
Military pilots have mistaken Venus as a UAF.
I can't just trust an eyewitness account of something fishy as evidence for exterrestrial beings visiting us with faster than light speed vehicles.
If scientists speak out they then get labelled as political. It's a lose-lose situation that scientists face.
Misinformation is like junk food. It triggers people's endorphins while scientific thinking is vegetables and fruits. It can never win.

I presume that it would more feasible to do a dipole antenna based radio telescope like LOFAR to take advantage of the radio silence.
My favourite how different the "home budget" and a national economy works is if you want to save some money for a trip you just stop spending a bit and keep the extra money in a savings account until needed. If an economy did that then the economy will contract, reducing peoples spending power and income.
It's like you're saving for you holidays and your hourly rate goes down because of it.

One of the problems I see with CO2 sequestration is that it will be a nice way for companies to suck at the teat of taxpayers the world over.
I'm sure Halliburton-like companies have a 3 step plan to be right at the front of the money firehose when governments are forced to reduce CO2 or face even bigger costs (both financially and politically) in the coming decades.

You need infrastructure. You need petrol/oil to power the machines to build the roads so you can build the electricity to be able to build the internet connectivity that you need.
The nations are wealthy but if the profits are siphoned off by both corruption and the international companies that own the mines, then the citizens don't see any of that money trickle down to them.
In these countries the educated leave very quickly unless they're employed by any of the above.
They are inalienable rights first. It has nothing to do with citizenship. If I'm on US soil then I have (roughly) the same right as a US citizen. That's what so great about the Bill of Rights. (note there some specific clause for US citizens but they are labelled as such eg US president etc)

We need to start using the term "amateur" in it's original sense to mean "for the love of". This is why people call themselves amateur astronomers, say, not because they failed astronomy class but because they love their hobby of astronomy.
