He's quoting Adam Savage, famous from his time with MythBusters. Adam (the entire team really) had a way of making interesting things happen no matter which direction their investigation took.

"raise billions to make customers whole" also still means fraud; he's taking investor money and giving it away. The purpose of invested funds is to improve the business, with a long-term goal of returning more than you were given to investors. Not doing that is the definition of securities fraud.

That's what all those ad spend dollars do, make sure new ideas are drowned out by a dull parade of decade-old information.

I've been very happy at a work-related credit union and I can't recommend them highly enough; no fees, boring online banking that doesn't change every 18 months, and the knowledge that I can get a human on the phone without having to tickle a robot's numbers.

I've always figured the easy way to improve adoption rates is to build in a statistical failure to ipv4 stacks; add a kernel option to drop 0.1% of ipv4 packets, or add a 250ms delay to ipv4 packets, and adoption of ipv6 will skyrocket without significantly impacting existing workloads because v4 will still work 99.9% of the time.
