How could this possibly be faster than a linear classifier? In "Implementation" near Section 2 they claim that their implementation is better than a linear classifier but that seems like it couldn't possibly be true could it? A single floating point operation per parameter has gotta be faster than multiple branches, right?

This is not mathematically necessary at all. This just reads like astroturfing for an overpriced mic retailer.
Do you have a source on the orangutan grader? That sounds like an hilarious read.
Ad companies that specialize in re-targeting are going to have an absolute blast with this!
Its kinda poetic that this page is down right now.
Can anyone explain in layperson terms how this is different from regular old polarization?
They have no way to tell who is/isn't a citizen so just change your location to Frankfurt and voila, you're protected by GDPR!
Unrelated to the discussion but uTorrent has an open, major bug right now so you might want to switch clients!!! https://bugs.chromium.org/p/project-zero/issues/detail?id=15...
It's kinda amazing that Wansink has so much reach when his work has been the subject of an upsetting amount of retractions: https://retractionwatch.com/2017/12/28/another-retraction-ap...
Pay, Expected Weekly Hours (especially if it's salary), and Tech Stack are the most important to me.
A person that struggles with CSS and performs better when two other developers are telling them what to do should probably just not be in this industry at all. This sounds like a nightmare for any competent developer.
It isn't luck, it's money. Successful entrepreneurs aren't lucky or hard-working, they're just people who have enough cash to operate at a loss while they pursue an idea.
How the hell did they measure clock speed if the passage of time itself is different?
"Imagine you install analytics on a traditional content site. A few months later you update that site to be a single page application (SPA) without changing your analytics code. Then, a few months after that, you update your site to be a progressive web app (PWA) "
Who on earth would ever do this? The worst boss of all time?
This has nothing to do with the "reach" and "power" of video, and everything to do with the fact that video ads are more valuable. Source: I work in online advertising.
Oh my god your youtube flow is GENIUS. I am extremely excited about trying it. How did you choose mpv?
The job search sucks for this guy because he's a front end developer that isn't keeping up with front end developer trends. Which is the thing people pay front end developers to do.
I understand the geometry in this situation and its impact, but if you're on a bicycle and you don't come to a complete stop at an intersection with potentially 40mph cross-traffic, you're going to have a bad time no matter what the angle is.
I don't understand why so many people are hung up on flying cars. It's a huge increase in the energy it takes to get from point A to point B, and for what reason? What do they hope to gain by wasting so much more fuel?
Why do you have such a persecution complex about this? You make fine points but your attitude is pretty off-putting, man.
I've found that the companies that insist on a thriving github portfolio are also the companies that expect you to work 16 hours a day on their code.
Normal places with normal expectations on work/life balance don't expect you to be pumping out code every second of the day.
LMAOing at the idea of a "free nation" in which saudi arabia--one of the most insanely conservative nations on earth--has total sovereignty.
Living the freaking dream!
Does the playlist button work for anyone else? Even with adblock off it doesn't seem to do anything when I click it.
Huh! I also asked for something weird (Frank Zappa + Animal Collective) and got Foo Fighters. I wonder if there's some vector math going on that makes Foo Fighters crop up if the input songs are too orthogonal.
The version they used for TI had a variety of rules that completely changed the metagame of 1v1 (no bottle, for example). Even ignoring the obvious API advantage, the match was unfair because the Pros had never trained under the constraints that the AI team brought.
Does anyone know if these phones will work with Project Fi?
Interrupting someone at their desk might take 20 seconds of your time, but it is easily a 10-minute interruption of their work.
Why is the article acting like Toyota is lagging behind? Aren't they literally the leading developer of battery technology in vehicles???
omg That is an awesome idea. I feel like it would be really fun to write and super entertaining to shout at a robot DM when things go pear-shaped.
