A bug fix is not a breaking change. You are speaking in tautologies. "A bug fix is a change that is a change to the API". No, bug fix does not change the interface. A bug fix does not change the API. It does not require a semantic version change unless it also changes the expected behavior of the method, in which case it is a change in the documentation, which is part of the application programming interface.

It's patently obvious that API compatibility is a computable problem. You are just checking if API1 is a subset of API2.

The argument that penalties should be paid out of the purchase price would probably hold water. When Smyte entered into those contracts they took on some duty to honor them and to suddenly dishonor them and divert all the assets out of the company so that penalties wouldn't ve avoided would be constructive fraud.

It's probably a bad idea to run a whole cluster on your laptop anyways. I never understood that practice. Just set up a server/mini-cluster and use that for development to host your ancillary services like RabbitMQ or whatever else you need. Then run the app you're actually developing, and only that, on your laptop.

The bank would have no capital to lend at fractional reserve. It could not lend out 90% deposit value without getting run on, because there is no deposit insurance. There is no M1 money supply growth coming from the central bank. You would be buying a bond but also necessarily acknowledging the possibility of default, unlike today in the funny money world of perpetual debt money.

It would be dangerous to run this open source code, also, since your program could be manipulated with precision timing attacks, if it were to be fooled into making a bid at a price flash. There is in fact plenty of technical risk. Caveat emptor!
