Australia not committing suicide; we are already dead - that's why they call us the down-under; the grave of the world. Killed by our wanker leaders.

hmmm just let them come for me :D
What is my purpose.
If you compare it to other server systems, it is pretty typical. I remember talking to Cisco about buying some lug nuts for our rack and they quoted me a price that was one-hundred times more than you could easily buy them for from a local supplier.
The real issue in Australia, as I imagine it is in most countries, is the fossil fuel industries lobbying the government. Oh and because of lies and misinformation told to voters (thanks Facebook), the country voted in a creationist-level PM, who believes that if the whole world burns, it's a punishment from god.
Ah, while there is a lot of good advice here, but just reading your symptoms, it sounds like you may have adult ADHD. Forget what most people think ADHD is, it should technically be called Executive Function Disorder and can be associated with social anxiety, racing thoughts, motivation, etc. Go and see a psychiatrist who specialising in ADHD and anxiety.
Sand blasting, esp. soda blasting. You can start with cheap equipment and work up from there. If I had to start from scratch, this would be it.
Ah. Alan Kay himself said that he feels they got the boundaries/sizing wrong when designing OO, so there really shouldn't be any mention of 'blind worship'. As far as I am aware, Kay has never been caught up in his own hubris.
One of the many reasons why I hate PayPal, Visa and MasterCard
There are some nice opinions put forth in this essay, but that's just it: opinion does not carry the same weight as a scientific theory. And all the great examples of scientists ignored by their peers, had done the hard work of producing actual data.
Thank you. Some really awesome tools their that I hadn't seen before.
Thanks for posting this. It needs to be spammed into most of the world's email boxes. So tired of people trolling other people just because they are right.
Really enjoyed this article. I agree with some of the top comments, but still thoroughly the read.
Agreed, they do have some of the best tooling. Damn, VB6 was one of the most amazing development environments ever made when you think about it - shame the language was so limited.
Still, I did prefer Borland Builder and do prefer Jetbrains Rider.
Please do not mention Powershell, this is a civil forum.
Exactly. Microsoft quite ironically they isn't a tech company, it has always being first and foremost a company in the business of making money - who just incidentally happens to hire some really smart technical people, who sometimes produce good products.
I remember working at a Microsoft HQ building, when they had "Linux is cancer" posters hanging throughout the building. Never heard any Microsoft employees complain about them.
Ah. Yes it is. They still don't get it.
He missed the best part: you, your consciousness, what in folklore we would call your soul, is nothing more than a sidecar pilot program for the phenotype your dna has 'chosen' to create. The selfish gene only cares about the self gene.
This list is awesome. I would love to shake your hand, but I am fairly sure I would never be able to find you.
ah... no
It is a very interesting topic and a good article. I did prefer Don Reinertsen's discussion of it though (I was lucky enough to see and meet him at a Yow! conference in Melbourne)
There is a video of the talk here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyZNxB172VI
I wouldn't say penalised. They should very likely need to be titled appropriately though. ie.
Paywall: <some shitty NY Times article>
That said, some other articles should highlight that they are paid for by think tanks or whatever other shitty agenda agency is behind them.
Uh hemmmm... So now paid publishers are: a) unbiased b) don't sell clickbait c) well researched d) non invasively targeted...
Holy shit batman. Do you work for the NY Times?
Hear Hear. Did it at least mention that English scientists with help from allies, produced the work that demonstrated that the atom bomb was possible? Maybe if the Nazis had it handed to them, then they would have developed the bomb instead!
Wow. Thanks for sharing Doxin. The 'Shane Koyczan' video is beautiful. I honestly feel that reaching out to someone being bullied is the most selfless act a person can do. I hope that everyone reading this can remember that and one day, when the need arises, can step forward and just be there for another person who needs someone.
Most people who are hired will have recently graduated, due to the exponential growth of software developers. These interviews are really just an examination question, like you would do in school. Companies use them because they can easily show whether a person can retain and then apply knowledge of computer science. And must companies do not know how to test candidates otherwise.
Exactly. This push for economic growth is a recent invention historically. Let’s go back to not fucking over each other or the planet for money. We should aim for 2 billion world population in the next few centuries.
Oh 100% was my issue too. Lots of chest work, then stopped going to gym. My back weakened and knotted right up my neck into the fascia. Actually caused my eyes to water (I swear I wasn't crying)
Hehehe They tried that with light bulbs in the US. The electric companies colluded to crush it and it became the start of planned obsolescence. I think Eastern Germany under Soviet rule made an amazingly cheap and efficient light bulb, but it didn't survive the fall of the Berlin wall - not enough money in it.
