I substantially regret using Prisma in production for this and very many other reasons.
At least the underlying data is well modeled, just need to rip out the JS library and replace it… but with what?
Just be interested in what they're interested in, same as how to connect with anyone. Let them tell you about things.

Seriously, this is for parents that want to do a better job. Your advice isn’t particularly useful as it isn’t specific enough for people that aren’t already connecting with their kids.
Perhaps propose more specific actionable advice. You can’t listen to someone that isn’t talking. What should they ask or share to break the ice?
People love to work on “projects” (myself included). But when it comes to businesses, projects are only interesting in terms of the revenue they generate. Either you are building revenue or you are building shit.
(Yes, even in a post-ZIRP environment, revenue is king. Cost cutters eventually get cut).
Labor prices for skilled labor have increased so much that even when you do the “how much is my time worth” calculation as an overpaid engineer, DIY has become the only way to go. It’s nuts, but a fun learning experience.
Inflation being transitory doesn’t imply prices will ever go down though. That was just people not understanding how inflation works.
It’s always when not if though. If you predict a bubble invariably you will eventually be right — in fact the more wrong you are (calling it too early) the more prescient you will appear!
