I dunno... I cook every day. I'd love a little gadget I can attach to my jug of olive oil or my sack of rice that will automatically ping Amazon to send more. Of course it's easy enough to do with my own eyes, but I'm usually too frazzled during and after cooking to update my shopping list...

As you clearly know, life is about balance. I'd say the ideal diet is mostly vegan, with exceptions made for very well-made cheese (in France), the occasional egg from a pastured hen, a steak once every few months from a cow who got to run around and eat grass, and wild fish once a week or so.

Unless you live in a coastal area and know a fisherman personally, all the fish you are eating -- whether from a fish-monger or your grocery store, has been previously frozen and thawed.

My friend was neighbors with a fisherman in Cape Cod. Now THAT was fresh fish.

They have simple ingredients and taste amazing --- I personally LOVE their chewiness.

However, they dates are rather sweet and add a lot of sugar. But RxBars are a way better option than cliff bars or any other monster energy bars out there that are basically corn syrup and whey.

I'm not trying to defend the people at your former org, but from an etiquette standpoint, it's a lot less awkward to give money to people in the wake of death or sudden grave illness (like cancer) rather than to give money to people suffering an ongoing condition like poverty or chronic illness.

Imagine a company holding fundraiser for Joe in accounting because he's poor.

That is simply not culturally acceptable, though it's likely the right thing to do.
