It would take less than 1 month if not for the restrictions. One of the reason is they might be using distilling to achieve the parity.

Circular dealing or round tripping is a form of cooking books and sometimes results in accounting fraud. Especially when circular revenue is booked without cash flow growth. Do you see cash flow growth on any side of these transactions.
This is a big blow to High-end Luxury Branded Companies, Many of these companies willfully destroy unsold inventory to not devalue their Brand. Manufacturing costs are just 1/20th of the marketed price.
Most probably, the returned items just sit in the warehouse of the companies than selling to ordinary customers. Golden times for warehouse companies.
They would have done that already if that is possible in the terms. Which clearly means they don’t have such leverage.
Sam definitely discussed about ethics and stuff (at stratospheric level) but when it comes to actually implementing those ethic or when someone tried to implement it in product, he was instrumental in getting rid of respective scientists (whom inturn went on to create claude). And currently was trying to get rid off another director who is trying to voice out opinion in this regard. That is exactly what I am pointing out, he gave such impressions to the rest of the world.
Microsoft never intended or assumed OpenAI will turnout like this great. It just did a small hedge of $1B to a promising tech and will very much like to takeover OpenAI if given a chance and they can afford all the lawyers needed to keep up with govt regulations.
Anthropic was able to create a comparable product to openai with out all the fuss that sam has created. I agree Sam might have had some significant contributions but they are not as much as it seem to be. I am sure OpenAI will keep on progressing as it does now with or without Sam.
He won the first time and lost the second time.
All the best people you say are just sales guys or people who are trying to create a product out of real engine.
By the way, this product doesn’t need sales people. It sells itself. What is the point of a sales guy leading?
This company should be lead by research team not product team.
The current deal with MSFT is cut by Sam is in such a way that Microsoft has huge leverage. Exclusive access, exclusive profit. And after all the profit limit is reached OpenAI sill need to be sold to msft to survive. This is like a worst deal for OpenAI whose goal is to do stuff open source way and it can’t do so due to this deal. If it is not for the MSFt deal, OpenAI could have open sourced and might have resorted to crowdsourcing which might have helped humanity. Also, quickly reaching profit goals is only for good for MSFT. There is no need to actually send money to OpenAI team, just provide operating expenses with 25% profit and take 75% profit. OpenAI has built a great software due to years of work and is being simply being milked by MSFt when the time comes for taking profit. And SAM allowed all this under his nose. Making sure OpenAI is ripe for MSFT takeover. This is a back channel deal for takeover. What about the early donors who donated with humanity goal whose funding made it all possible? I am not sure Sam has any contribution to the OpenAI Software but he gives the world an impression that he owns that and built the entire thing by himself and not giving any attribution to fellow founders.

If you liquidate in market half the companies in SP500 will seem like they are broke even though by definition you need to be profitable to get into SP500. But that is not how companies are valued at. They also are valued with potential. “Twitter is broke” is a drama created by Musk basically is a reason he says for all the actions. Share holder tap isn’t dried up. He just need to open the tap with lower share price probably less that quarter a price he actually bought it for. Nothing is in dooms day situation.
Why are all downvotes? Seems pretty compelling.
Probably he would sell the identity of tweets and promised those countries to remove tweets which are critical of them.
AWS RDS is 10x slower than BareMetal MySQL (both reads and writes). Slowness is mainly due to the reason that Storage is over network for RDS.
Not bad to invest some extra time to get better performance.
You are falling to “Appeal to antiquity” fallacy if you think something old is better.
PeopleSoft is now replaced by Workday.
My guess is Elon is just trying to slow down the takeover until he figure out the money source.
Suppose there are 1Billion shares free float in a company. Out of that 500million stocks are locked by Founders and true believers. So only 500million stocks that is liquid.
Suppose, I have $10Billion with me. Current price of stock is $1000. Ideally, I could buy 10million shares. Instead, I buy long dated call options to buy 50million shares at a price $1200 probably with $1Billion. And use rest $9Billion in open market to get 9million stock during a decent positive surprise of earnings release. The option writers will scramble to buy stocks in open market for even higher price to cover the options they have written.
Example company doing this https://m.holdingschannel.com/all/stocks-held-by-susquehanna...
Financial Engineering might be a good reason. Most of the buy side analysts and fund managers rely on financial metrics and Elon is very good at cooking books. Also, stock price has nothing to do with performance of company as we have seen in GameStop and other companies. My bet is that TSLA stock is moving up by forcing short sellers and call writers to force close their positions by some private market force most probably fueled by Elon tweet farm. In turn creating momentum upwards. It is very contradictory, but I feel TSLA stock will fall if the short sellers stop shorting and call writers stop writing this stock. And stop being bag holders of this stock.
Not just highmem configs. You have to do any decent memory intensive workloads to be able to see difference. Memory Access Latencies are higher for AMD machines because of various reasons.
Benchmark was executed only for CPU intensive node configurations. For highmem node configurations, AMD is not performing well. Probably need to title the report as Cloud Report for CPU intensive workloads. For memory intensive workloads, this report is not doing enough justice.
Banks finance a lot of commercial real estate. It is in the best in best interest of banks to insist to come back to office. They are already neck deep into this.
