I found it to be a huge productivity boost. In highly interactive apps, templates and code are connected so much, trying to pretend that they are not and switching back and forth all the time for me personally feels like fooling myself.

It might also has something to do with the fact that not all good music is simply radio-friendly. That is, it's hard to appreciated it in a similar way it's hard to appreciate a good movie unless you're watching it somewhere in a quite place without distractions.

I guess it's also amplified by the fact that people tend to accept things as true by default, until it's proven otherwise. In other words, insertion of data is the way cheaper then its invalidation and probably happen much more frequently thanks to social media.

Static typing doesn't have to require typing substantially more characters though (ML-family languages are good example, other examples I can think of is Nim), the syntax choice is quite orthogonal to this but it seems like C-syntax appears in new languages mostly due to its familiarity.

Enjoyed the article, it describes most of the issues I had with ActiveRecord.
