This is one of my foremost requirements from a browser these days; how well does it block ads. As much as I like Safari it doesn’t seem to block ads as well as Brave, so Brave is my daily driver.

I developed a 'transport' for Mulesoft, that would allow XMPP based communication, and relay that to my phone either by sms or email, and vice versa. At the time the communication were Jabber based and almost everything was through that, so this worked out quite nicely.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th pair. The current ones need to be replaced as they rattle, first appearing in the left now the right are progressively following suit.

They are convenient and work well, however the fault rates are incredible. As soon as apple store opens back up I'll be replacing them for 5th time. At this point, I have given up and probably go back to SoundMagic in ears or something with noise cancelling that I can use while riding my motorbike.

PS: I didn't purchase apple care, and my friends/colleagues haven't had any issues.

I have a similar view on the A380, but I love being a passenger on them more than any other plane. The extra leg room is what wins over for me and as I fly Emirates the in flight entertainment is brilliant.

For me it’s a shame we are seeing a decline of these planes. I loathe to think the industry is going to go back to less leg room, more seats and feeling like cattle.

It doesn't need to be a preview version of AS. I'm coding with Kotlin on AS 2.3.1 and IntelliJ 16. Just make sure you configure kotlin for the project, easily done, by creating a kotlin file.

When i graduated, my manager would often come over to me on a Thursday and say he needed my work done my Monday. Which inevitably meant i would be in the office over the weekend. This happened for 6 weeks straight. That's right, every single day i worked, there were no weekends for naive old me.

On the beginning of the 7th week, i had a twitch in my eye and i could smell death. I broke and handed in my notice, my ceo refused, then accepted after he spoke to the manager. The manager had a word with me, and told me that they were going to fire me anyways. What a nice guy.

This resonates with me to an extent. I get easily bored with the mundane day to day tasks in the language i'm forced to use. There is an occasional spark of passion when i come across something of interest. Other than that i day dream of other programming languages, solving problems that have an impact on my fellow humans.

The passion was driven out of me by the need to pay the bills. I'd like to think that i'm a gun for hire, unfortunately i'm more like the tap. When there's a need it's used, nothing more, nothing less.

I wish i could do something more exciting with my skills.

Coming from an IntelliJ background, one thing that irks me the most when using XCode is: i need to click on the red dot symbol to see the error. For the love of God, just display the error, why do i need to move my hand away from the keyboard to the mouse. It just annoys me enough to lose my coding mojo.

It really tends to me an afterthought. A lot of places that i've worked for, accessibility is never factored with estimates. If it does make it, it's a rushed job, or it never makes it and after few complaints, it's added as needed.

I am a software developer/engineer/<whatever the new fad is>, and i am the only "computer guy" in the family. So i've been tasked to create a website for a bakery startup. I couldn't agree more with the previous comment, about creating a website as being a momentum killer!

So when i saw this, my initial thoughts were, hmmm another one of 'those' sites. However i'm pleasanlty surprised, sure the elements aren't perfect, and the colours could be more varied, but it's an almost complete site. Replace the graphics, the fonts and text, i'm good to go! I just need to focus on the content and not the boiler plate crap.

In the last 16 years (i've worked at over 10 companies) i've only had one company use UML and it was only for an overview of the proposed architecture.

I use redis for a multiplayer mobile game. Stores user details, game scores, global leaderboard and randomly generated game data that exists for the time of a single game.

Seems to be broken, i only see NaN where there should be numbers e.g. Reddit (NaN%) | HackerNews (NaN%)

This isn't new, well for intelliJ at least. I bought IJ 12x, and was a little saddened when they changed to the sub model. However it's still a great tool and i prefer it over the others, therefore still use it. It just means i'm forced to use the community edition, or EAP.

Loyalty is as good as the product; if another product comes along and makes my life easier i would switch.

Couldn't agree more, release sh!t products you'll get that response, especially when most are forced to use said products by their respective workplaces. It was a terrible AMA for the IBMers, they could have been more honest, but i don't think that would have swayed the mass of discontent.

Yes, I've used kotlin to replace a large legacy Java application. Pretty critical to the business, sat in the middle interacting with. All upstream and downstream systems.

Kotlin certain ly made life easier in some places, most importantly it was fast and easy and a joy to work with.

At this point, i suspect it's damage limitation.
