Ghidra is a lifesaver for legacy systems that have a bunch of home-spun executables that make bespoke things function and rotate out random technicians over the years, when they fail it is a pain to figure out what they explicitly do, so reverse engineering them is sometimes the only option when a new tool needs to be built that does the same thing but without the parts that are deprecated. I hadn't seen this class before so I look forward to filling in my knowledge gaps around this software, thank you.

This is inline with a Zen practice called "beginner's mind", and is so useful in many areas, thank you for this inspiration.

You scan your face with the headset and the other person sees an avatar that is a scan of your face. Kinda defeats the purpose of "Face"time but I have not used it yet but with the speed of development I could see it improving to the point that the distinction between the avatar and your real face will be hard to tell apart.

The announcement coming from WWDC makes me think that the first wave is mostly for developers to build on, and then the cheaper/more advanced headsets coming later will be the ones marketed to regular users. I was on the fence until Palmer Luckey gave it a thumbs up, now I am cautiously optimistic.

It would be interesting to have varying personas debate, but then we have to agree on which one is correct (or have a group of 'uncensored' models decide which one they see as more accurate), which sort of brings us right back to where we started.

Apologies for not being clear, "truth" might be too triggering of a word these days, but the models will need some level of objective accuracy to be useful, and it would be interesting to see where the "uncensored" models fall on that accuracy metric, and how people react to what information it displays once the guard rails are off.

The first thought I had at the release of ChatGPT is how people will react strongly when it doesn't match their internal bias / worldview.

Now I am curious to ask these "uncensored" models questions that people fight about all day on forums... will everyone suddenly agree that this is the "truth", even if it says something they disagree with? Will they argue that it is impossible to rid them of all bias, and the specific example is indicative of that?

As a network guy I am blissed out by this, thank you for sharing. Often when I study the concepts I repeatedly have that same shock of how much is going on under the hood across large distances at tremendous speed.

His offer included a meme number and was overvalued even in April '22 (by 54% !), claimed he was going to combat the spam bots, and then tried to back out, citing the same spam bots. The event was described as a "hostile takeover" at the time [0], a term which has stuck all the way through to most summaries of the event [1]

Impressive that it was only a two day period between the shutdown announcement and the first version of DigicamFinder going up - well done to all those involved.

Quick rant: it was so much fun playing with and testing the ETH ecosystem, it felt like we were really trying to reinvent how finance worked and outsourcing trust to static contracts. It felt like decentralized systems were at least plausible.

Then Elon and the second Doge wave happened... Mutant Ape NFTs getting hyped by people like Paris Hilton and Jimmy Fallon... Sam Bankman's clear deception and FTX buying sports stadiums... the same centralized actors that we were working to get away from completely hijacked the platform, seized the narrative, and basically tarnished all the fun aspects. It felt like when Facebook no longer required .edu emails and a flood of parents and spammers took over the website.

I'm an Apple user and love all things VR / AR, probably spend 10hr/wk using Quest 2.

Tempted to get the Reality Pro/One on launch, but at $3k and the tech team saying that not only will there be nothing exciting software-wise at launch, but a cheaper version and a more advanced version are on the horizon (no pun intended), I can't justify getting it.

I can only imagine the amount of security pressure they feel since they are basically a backdoor into easily stealing one or more company identities once you pass the 2FA, with full address books of customers that will trust emails deployed through MC campaigns and blindly click on links in the emails sent out, so I am guessing they err on the side of caution and have tons of false positives instead of letting anything pass through or disrupt.

That's a good point, also unless they set up a hypervisor like proxmox, the cloud probably has their technicians used to just vaporizing problematic VMs and clusters, and easily extending and deploying new machines, which is so much more time consuming in the physical computing space.

Looks like oldschool SEO farming by stuffing a bunch of reference links to their site all over the internet so the robots think that tons of people are linking to your site. Don't think it works as well anymore but still a common tactic.

Totally agree, single projects on Blur have $3 million in 1D volume and a floor price above $100k (at time of writing, 66 eth), the copycat markets were a little silly to think they would catch the spillover of the popularity of the platforms that started it just because they made the same thing on their side of the fence. It's a shame that it was a feeding frenzy for scammers, it's just another protocol when you look under the hood [0]

I do this for my blog, i love to type in a conceptual prompt related to the topics covered and get a bizarre amalgamation to use as filler art.

I did a similar thing where i had a specific "journal" chat with CGPT and gave it a biography and primed it to act like Socrates with mental health training, and counselor skills. I get it to give prompts and also ask questions that promote elaboration.

Actually journaling for the first time in my life, it is amazing when it remembers things that i have told it and is super motivational, especially since it is always available and never gets bored of me asking for advice or venting about my day.

It would be interesting to get your opinion on censorship again if a specific lie was gaining exponential traction and threatened the livelihood of your family. Or even if there were something less direct, like if you couldn't go see a movie in a theater because a huge tiktok trend of yelling "Fire!" and filming people trample each other gains the spotlight of millions of users.

It brings a tear to my eye when i read through well crafted ERC proposals [0] and then remember these developers are awash in a sea of scammers, blind hatred, vitriolic ignorance, and of course the traditional systems that fight against any sort of distributed ecosystem that they cannot control.
