Honestly, this is why I stopped using plex. I set up and ran my own server because I wanted to see the stuff I have, mostly digitized family VHS and then suddenly I'm finding movies and shows on my server that I didn't put there.

mikrotik is great for the tech enthusiast who wants to test things out or use enterprise grade hardware but without the enterprise grade cost (no license fees) but this also means you're missing the enterprise grade support. The equipment is a fantastic deal for what you get but you need to know what you're doing to get the best performance out of it.
This isn't a new thing though, nobody likes having to sit around all day and listen to someone talk and kids are the worst at that. They're young and have so much energy so a teacher has always needed to adjust the learning to make it something that the kids can learn from while paying attention and not disrupting the class. One of my favorite things my teacher once did after we read Gary Paulsen's Hatchet was have a 'survival expert' come in and talk about some of the things that Brian had to do and how some others (real people) had to do the same thing. The size comparison he showed us between a full grown man and a moose blew my mind as a kid.
I'm just getting into Solar myself and while it seems like a lot there are some things that you have to do math for. If you've got 10 panels you'll want to find out how to get all that energy to the inverter/mppt without going over the volt/amp limit on the device. This is probably the most difficult part and for everything else there's a huge solar community of people starting exactly where you are. I myself just bought an Anker solar battery and 2 panels that I bring out during the day to charge the battery and it runs my laptop and monitor for the evening after I get home from work. I want to do more but I'm renting so I'm just trying to find ways to do so. When my state legalizes balcony solar you bet I'm going to play with that too.
You're likely thinking of a Piezo fan or solid state fan. It uses a thin membrane that vibrates and moves air though small spaces. Frore Systems had their Airjet Mini make the rounds in reviews and demos a couple years ago (2?).
Honestly the only thing keeping me from bringing up the idea of moving to linux is that Windows has active directory and domain wide group policies - if linux had something similar that was easy to manage I'm sure a lot more corporations would move to linux. The ease at which I can adjust system settings throughout the company or within each department such as disabling/enabling features, mapping drives or printers. I haven't found a better alternative than active directory
What part of this would be illegal? It's just a zigbee door sensor. The only issue I could see is the college getting upset but if anything they'd just say 'take it down'
I can't imagine it would be too much, depending on how it's worded it could show that the applicant has a 'wide range of experience'. Plus I kind of wonder if HR would already take that into account, it's not just software engineers and salespeople doing it, it's everyone, HR and Execs included

For example should non-residents not be allowed to purchase vacation properties and lease them?
AirB&B has been a terrible experience, so many people buying up houses just to lease them out for a weekend has definitely contributed to rising housing costs and over-all cost of living
I've been saving up for the past 8 years and have got a pretty decent deposit built up but the costs of houses in my area are just so expensive that the deposit barely makes a scratch in the overall mortgage costs and I wouldn't be able to afford the mortgage, seems like the more I save up the higher the housing prices go. It absolutely amazes (and infuriates) me that some of the houses I see going for 400-500k now went for 150-200k 10 years ago.
a lot of it is vcenter/vsan/vrealize so pretty big stuff. That being said, they aren't killing it off just killing off the perpetual ownership of those products when you buy a license, now it's subscription based
You're right and while it might take up valuable rack space I would imagine there are some rack-based solutions that have most of the stuff included so that you don't have to rely on the dc providing it, pretty sure ServeTheHome has done a couple reports on them
I'm surprised. They mention that cooling is only going to get worse and that fans consume a lot of power, should liquid cooling not be something to look at? Maybe they did and found it either unnecessary or improbable to do at a colo depending on how many servers they have at the data center it might not be worthwhile but if they have 10 or 20 servers surely it would be worth while no?
Even better it seems to spike in May almost every year. I didn't see if it mentioned where these measurements were taken but typically July/August are the hottest months so if it was AC, we should see the spike in those two months, no?
I second that. Didn't even realize I could do that, just copied

into My Filters section, refreshed the page and it worked. It's so simple.
Youtube reccomended one of their videos and they are really well done with layman's explanations of everything and CG re-enactments, video evidence, and report evidence. They set a high bar for investigation videos
Sorry, tech support can't help with that, you'll need to call pest control
It likely uses liquid hydrogen for fuel which can be difficult to come by as there aren't a lot of fuel stations that have that available. I found this video interesting and informative and it goes over some of the pros and cons of owning a hydrogen powered car - https://youtu.be/rtZQLUtckS4
Being a level-1 helpdesk tech I never got to work from home as my job requires hands on work with servers, swapping drives, plugging in cables, etc. I haven't seen my coworker in 3 years though. We like to joke that he finally ditched the buzz cut and grew it out like Fabio
It's gotten to the point where I feel like I'm being greedy driving my little '09 eco hatchback instead of my motorcycle and how much weight a subsequent fuel is being carried around and burnt to move me through the town on my way to work. 2800lbs vs 366lbs
I've been mostly doing this, I typically skip breakfast and lunch and eat dinner with my family. The first week or so I was really hungry between meals but it's not so bad anymore. When I get a craving a sip of water usually helps and I like to chew gum to help as well. The weight isn't falling off but I was losing about a pound a week. It's slowed down a bit to maybe a pound every two weeks but at the same time, I'm keeping a consistent weight without having to go to the gym and only walking about 3 miles (sometimes more) a day
I wonder if this includes content that was removed for violating terms and conditions like threats, doxxed info, images. If so, there might be some legal issues that arise from this no?
jesus, you're right.
