Why would anyone pay any attention to a garbage website like "data science central" in the first place? Why should any sane person care if this empty bit of internet flotsam puts fake widows and orphans in it? Newsflash: lots of crummy websites fake like they're popular and fashionable.

You people do realize that mass hysteria over political correctness nonsense is a way of driving traffic to your website, right? I mean, not that I've taken advantage of this lemming-like behavior in modern culture or anything.

These days: I stick them in labeled subdirectories, sync my machines using BitTorrentSync, and use an org-emacs file or two to keep notes. Not awesome, but it keeps most of the visible work flow within emacs (which can view PDF files these days).

A friend does something similar, but uses BibTex to keep track of things.

Women were involved with programming from a fairly early date (you can find videos by Judith Clapp on youtube describing her involvement). As far as I know, they didn't have anything to do with the fault tolerant systems, or designing the computer itself. Therefore: yes, "grandfathers" is the correct word to use. Both in the English language sense, and in the gender sense in this instance.

I'm sorry you think it is more productive to call out perceived slights to your gender, rather than doing something awesome. I guess it's a lot easier kvetching than, you know, actually doing something.
