Can I ask why you think this is better? I just did some quick math, and based on the average yearly cost of incarceration for an Adult Male in Indiana at $19,202[1], assuming SBF lives for another 50 years, that's $960,250 of tax payer dollars being used to store someonne that contributes nothing to society. So after he's stolen billions of dollars, we'll spend another million keeping him alive for absolutely no reason whatsoever. It doesn't make sense to me economically or socially. It doesn't even make sense to me as an individual, as I'd much rather just bite the bullet than spend the next few decades looking at concrete walls.

Except that he later goes on to describe how this is also affecting women more and that we should be paying attention to that as well? I don't think anything the author said is actually disparaging of women, in fact there was quite a bit of the opposite, talking about how vital their role in society has been. He's not blaming working moms, he's using them as the perfect example that a person can leave the workforce for years at a time and rejoin without much loss.

With how long he's sat on this issue, I would imagine there has been quite a lot happening behind the scenes in that regard. Issuing that statement publicly feels like the first step towards litigation to me.

As someone who has just joined the workforce in the past few years, I have never understood LinkedIn. The job hunting seems like a budget version of Indeed or similar. The "social media" aspect is by far the least engaging, most spammy, useless stream of information that's possible. The recruiters on there ruin things even further, adding to the pile of spam that we already deal with. I really don't see the point of LinkedIn past declaring who you work for.

I agree, which is why I've made two decisions to guide the rest of my life:

1. Staying in the Midwest. Every climate change prediction map has the Midwest as one of the last livable places in the States.

2. Not having kids. In my opinion, anyone who brings a child into this world at this stage is selfish and only considering themselves. I personally wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that I forced this existence onto another being. I often wish my parents had the same consideration, but I guess then I'd miss out on watching the chaos.

Even a couple years before COVID lockdowns brought even more surveillence to the classroom, I had numerous instances of monitoring taking place during online classes similar to what is discussed here. Scanning a driver's license, panning the room, microphone checks, etc.

It's not true, butit was happening far before role queue. Even before OWL became a thing, people from all the way down in low silver were trying to emulate the top streamers and piggy back on thier methods. GOATS and pro league is when this really took off though. I remember ever other lobby in ranked was people trying to pull off GOATS, but no one had near the skill to coordinate properly, or even the game sense to understand what role they were supposed to fill.
