That is unfortunately the problem though. If this is true, they have already handled it terribly as it has already been 2 weeks since the attack.

Yes, but the site working provides absolutely no reason to actively block it. Display an 'upgrade your browser' message fine, but actively block a certain browser based on user agent string? Ridiculous.

I don't know if any you remember, but this is why Guido van Rossum quit using Twitter. The official twitter client for Android uploads your entire contact book without showing more than a notification stating 'find your friends' or similar; you click this notification and by that time it's already too late. It's not misleading; it says 'shutters' not 'shut'. As in how you'd close a shop overnight by pulling the shutters down..

I think he was more pointing the finger at HN in general.
