Did you ever try a bike from a bike shop? This sounds like a department store bike experience. Multispeed bicycles are not generic widgets you unbox, hop on, and go. They need tuning, like a musical instrument, and a lot of the adjustments are interdependent on one another.

That said it's also hella not cost effective. I'm in $400 or more, and have only printed a few daily use items. My printed clothes dryer knob has been working great for a few years, and my printed curtain rod brackets are working fine so far this summer. The replacement button I made for my father's CNC lathe is working fine a few years in too. That said, being able to sketch something, bang it out in openscad, and have a part waiting for me on the bed the next morning is pretty magical.

I was absolutely mozilla's target audience when firefox was introduced. Now they remove control and capabilities from us, and I keep getting told here on HN I'm not their target audience, and should accept that they are making this for "most users" who need extension signing, auto updates, sandboxing, and in general NERFING THE POWER from me. Who the hell are they building for if not techies? Who do they think is going to evangelize for them if not techies?

I have a 95, two 98, and two windows xp machines at home. They are SO MUCH EASIER to use than modern linux, mac, or android. And my goodness are they fast. I've booted my p75 98 machine faster than web pages can load on my i7 mac. Really makes you wonder what kind of hell the ignorance of "right tool for the job" will lead us to in the next few years.

Our win95 print server ran for years unattended with a simple nightly reboot set up in the task scheduler.

My wife and I play two player house of the dead now and then. She memorizes levels, I skillshot. It's potent in combination. She gets the zombies I forget, and I get the ones she misses. Since it's always the same, it also doesn't get her too jumpy with anxiety. (We've gotten to the final boss on both saturn HOTD 1, and DC HOTD 2, never beaten the games though...)
