Definitely not. Most public schools have in state tuition of under $10,000 per year with lots of financial aid for those in need.

I am seeing the samething on Chrome 15 and Windows XP. I wonder if there is some issue with the font rendering engine on XP. Additionally, if you zoom in 3 or 4 times on the page the font suddenly clears up.

Unfortunately, your car is already being tracked. A lot parking garages, and toll roads are doing exactly this.

This seems to compete with some of the benefits of using Google Wallet. Although, I suppose a Google Wallet based loyalty card requires a lot larger investment by the business.

Also since a QR code is just an image and not something more complicated like an NFC tag what's to stop someone from taking a picture of it with their phone and scanning it multiple times at home?

edit:* well looking at their FAQ they say this: Patent-pending technology guarantees the integrity of your loyalty program. GPS triangulation, velocity analysis, and statistical variation keep things secure.

That still has to trust the smartphone to report the correct GPS and velocity, additionally I think faking the statistical variation might not be too difficult.

Using a TPM to ensure that only trusted software is accessing the fob as well. We're still a little ways off from a completely cryptographically secure software stack.

Sure my point is that this article is mistitled. They're not increasing the emulator speed 400%, they're switching to Android x86 and achieving speed ups. This may be a good thing to do but is entirely different from improving the speed of the emulator itself.

Thoughts on Spotify 15 years ago

My biggest gripe is the lack of music discovery functions. MOG is a competing service and I find their artist radio functionality helps me find new bands I would have never heard of before. Spotify lacks anything resembling discovery functions and that's why I cancelled my subscription. Additionally, how is there no web UI for music playing?

I'm running into an issue where I get intermittent internet disconnection on the guest. I can't pinpoint what's causing but gmail will just start to time out. Wasn't there in Vbox 3.x though.

In fact my chrome is working with MP4 video and this appears just to be Apple pushing quicktime on to Chrome users.

The version of Chrome I'm using must have removed H264 support. Quicktime as a fallback is rather disappointing as Flash seems like it has a much higher install base and smaller disk space footprint.
