I know exactly the type of guys you are talking about. They write tools for traders, a mix of Excel, VB, .Net, you name it. They are not obsessed with architectural beauty, patterns and frameworks. They just write what users ask them (and they do not tell traders what traders need - the response will be swift and insulting). The traders take these tools and generate profit. And they do not give a shit about test coverage or not sound architecture principles. If software generates profit, then it works.

If people do not like Twitter or FB policies, they are free to quit. I have quit Twitter and FB for exactly this reason - I do not like their policies of censoring the posts. This is that simple. If you see a turd on the ground - you don't have to step into it and then complain about the smell. Many censored entities do not have even Telegram account, where there is zero censorship where people could follow them. This means they do not care so much about reaching out to readers. They would rather complain but cling to Twitter.

Twitter and FB did a HUGE favor to Republicans and personally to Trump. Hadn't they blocked the story, would we see 1159 comments here? Instead of "oh, not that again!.." story, that would have died two days later, we have fireworks that will last until election and will have significant impact.
