Aren't all sciences were born from philosophy? Graduating from the journey of understanding the meaning of something and graduating to measuring it to further understand why the world works the way it works?

Social sciences, economics, and medicine are relatively immature (hundreds of years versus thousands) compared to the hard sciences. These fields all apply the scientific method to the best degree available and the subject matter is pretty complex therefore results are difficult to reproduce. They could do a better job at self-regulation, but maybe that's part of its maturation process.

Humans with their personalities and motivations are harder to "science".

If someone in the U.S. told me something was 'n' football fields long I would assume they mean 100 yards excluding the endzones.

I am now expecting to see a movie/TV series with what you described as the plot.

I took a studio design course and the teacher remarked that it was not uncommon in the 1970s to use a "private" transmitter to play audio they were actively mixing to create optimize the sound for playing in a car. I find it very interesting, how challenging it was working with the music industry and the fact how much of the environment is taken into account.

Agreed, it's a struggle. We apply milorganite or similar biosolid product every third month to ensure the grass gets the nutrients it needs. Otherwise we get a spotty lawn, which in turn results in poor water retention and pooling.

I would hope one would always more than think about security or privacy when implementing a public web site.

I have always liked the simple expression "fail to plan, plan to fail". And by extension a modified quote of Eisenhower's: "plans are worthless, but planning is essential."

I thought the same. I feel they should have called it something like "Joint Cybersecurity Advisory Protocol".

My thought is the fear of additional medical costs due to infection on top of the bills I am expected to pay.
