After running a bunch of models on my own PC (a pretty good one), I have to say by FAR the best results for coding has been with Deepseek models. However, I just spent 20 minutes playing with this Phind 70B model and it's totally nailing the questions I'm asking it. Pretty impressed.

It seems like lowest effort submission possible to me. It's not really related to tech news at all. There's no recent news or changes. The op didn't post anything about why they found it interesting. The conversation happening here is sparse and not interesting. Aside from the fact that I've had comments downvoted for "being low effort" in the past. People can find anything interesting but not everything is a good submission to HN.

I've posted this a few times recently, but I used to pay for youtube premium, but it started showing me ads while using chromecast. The third time it happened I cancelled and went back to using ublock. I don't use the chromecast much because the ads are unbearable but I see exactly 0 ads ever on my pc. In short, I block ads because not only is it free, it also actually works. My guess is as soon as(if?) they manage to totally stop ad blockers, they will pull a cable company move and start showing ads to paying users as well. They'll say it's to help creators or something or course.

I cancelled YT premium because it would still show me ads while using chromecast sometimes. 100% chance they will start showing ads to premium users if they actually manage to shut down ad blockers. Just like cable TV does. Pay for the service, watch ads half the time anyway.

right, the text content was AI generated, and people don't like that. But if any of the tech was AI generated then the author would receive praise.

Well I never said the article had anything to do with AI art. I have simply noticed a pattern of almost everyone agreeing that AI generated art is bad and harms real artists, while simultaneously agreeing that AI generated code is great and only helps programmers. My post was fairly low effort though I'll give you that. It seems to have pushed a few people's buttons none the less lol.

There's another story on HN posted today about balancing money and meaning and one of the top comments is a sarcastic put-down about the AI generate image at the top of the blog post. If the author had used AI to create the web page they'd almost certainly receive similar praise as the comments on this one. Both AI's are trained on other people's work, yet you seem to think even pointing this out is unfair. Very strange imo.
