Any reasonably big project uses docker because it's a very simple way to have the exact environment in both production and in dev. Also it is helpful for keeping things isolated. In all projects I've worked for the las ten years for several major companies, docker has been a requirement.
You should also clarify that you pulled your statements out of your butt to look edgy. Everyone in every team I worked for the last ten years use docker. Docker is old tech. If you and your cavemen devs ignore what it is, that's your problem.
Most programmers use docker or don't install extensions unapproved by their company.

There was a study that people using the keyboard instead of the mouse felt they were working faster but in fact they were working slower. A perception thing. Users were more engaged when using a keyboard.
That's because the US and Europe count heat-related deaths differently. In the US they count deaths caused by heat. In Europe they count deaths worsened by heat.

They literally have a green leaf next to power saving options. Also, there's an option in windows upgrades to time the upgrades to when the grid is mostly renewables.
The industry spent decades preaching us about power savings, with Microsoft settings application lecturing about power saves and the update app programming them on renewables peak, only for... wasting gigawatts by forcing us to have copilot everywhere.
If Microsoft were consistent, which isn't, power saving mode would disable AI features.

I use only self hosted free software. Admittedly it's not for everyone. But solves the issue for me.

One of the most frustrating things about HN is that people seem so unaware of how idiosyncratic their preferences are. If you stood on the street corner and asked every passerby what they would change about their phone, I think you would be there all day before someone said "I wish I could replace the battery".
