Great app, love to use it, thank you to the creator.

I'm not complaining, I'm giving feedback to a creator that might help them be aware of some user situation they hadn't considered. A lot of people clear their browser cache at some point (I would hope) and would lose all the settings they put into this app and therefore lose all the progress they made in their setup, and it would be frustrating for them, not just me.

Yes that would be cool. Just generally I'd say I'm ok with making accounts for 1000 other things that are a lot higher stakes info than my favorite youtube channels. But if it becomes a bookmark or something saveable than ok cool maybe that works.

Ok, there must be a way, though, just encrypt the personal channels chose with the user's password so you don't know what they have chosen, and don't track anything? And I think most people aren't too worried about it being known what their favorite 10 channels are, for example, yeah? And if you don't track what they actually watch at all, that info isn't very interesting.

Try to add a favicon for the website if you can guys, a blue dot would work well here.

hi, my feedback is that I would like to be able to create an account, because I have my browser (Firefox) set to always clear all cookies and history on shutdown, so when I re-open this later I assume all my added channels would be lost, and would need to start from scratch. If it wasn't for that, I think it's great and would use it.

Dang don't gatekeep so strongly. Sure, no one should litter, obviously; but among those amateur casuals making first trips out into nature are budding, next generation more "hardcore" real adventurers that might pass your standards as they gain more experience. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Agreed, that is insane pricing for this. I guess calling and texting isn't cheap, but maybe could price it per event or something.

Ha, this is what I've done, it's called "moving there". Lived in many countries around the world - you want to learn what it's like to be local, you gotta live there, and for a long while. Even then you're still an outsider. The truth is, we're all always outsiders in the lives of people we don't know, no matter where we are or live.

For the global audience could add one of the most used apps in the world from China - WeChat, which has pretty distinctive sounding pings. Great work!

I have to agree with the other commenter, your characterizations sound patronizing and your generalizations are incredibly unscientific and anecdotal. Just because you like Filipinos doesn't mean anything when you're drawing conclusions that just sound ridiculous. Source - foreigner who spends a lot of time working and living in the Philippines.

ok thank you we'll check that. I do think our night time styling could be darker, for sure. I use Dark Reader usually for most sites and appreciate sites not being too bright in the eyes at the wrong times.

Ok, we didn't hear that input before so thank you we will see how to improve that. See in the top right icons there is a 'moon' that turns on a night time mode, might be helpful.

I just ran our site through the Web Accessibility contrast checker at webaim.org to compare the headlines (what we think people want to scan and focus on) to the background. The contrast score is a very high and passing 14.5/1 ratio.

We make the micro text more subdued on purpose to make scanning the headlines easier.

I'd disagree, internal competition (like it or not, and yes it doesn't sound fun and often doesn't feel great or fair) can be a very effective motivating strategy. And management is used to using this with sales teams, everyone in sales is always competing with each other. It's never fair, they'll have unequal markets, for example, but the competition is incredibly motivating. When I was in sales long ago, the drive to be the best and regarded as such was even more motivating than just getting more commissions. It's dog eat dog but for better or worse it works.

I am a huge, huge critic of Starlink. I think it's disastrous for the beauty of the night skies, while solving a problem "the long way around" unnecessarily. I am currently developing a glamping resort in a relatively remote part of an island in the Philippines. We have very little light pollution, giving us a gorgeous night sky view that is so rare to enjoy for people anymore.

At our place you can see the Milky Way on a clear night, it's amazing. I don't want his ejaculation of junk all over our beautiful night sky view. For internet? Guess what else we have in this remote, not wealthy part of the Philippines? A cell tower, a few hills away from us, newly installed. I get better data speeds there than I do in downtown Shanghai. You don't need satellites for good internet. Just run a cable out to where people are and put a tower.

I agree. I mean I get it that it's for open source, and so therefore can be straight to the point. But it's missing a lot that would be easily recommendable, like clear calls to action; there isn't a clear option to Contribute or Support, or one pathway to Learn More.

I know it isn't very 'cool', but Zoho SalesIQ works very well for us for only $20 a month, which seems half the cost for the paid tiers for a lot of these.

Looks interesting and more alternatives to Google Analytics is nice. Funny how they focus on 'Rage clicks' in addition to Dead Clicks and Excessive Scrolling as main metrics. The demo doesn't show much tracking through page depths though, they need to apply the demo on a website with more than one page.

I would think "decent quality" video would be preferable anyway. I don't need perfect detail of everyone's wrinkles and blemishes and they don't need mine, either.
