That why they need widen the moat; it appears not giving us access to hardware might be that moat.

They desperately need LLMs to stay rentier and hardware advances are a direct attack on their model.

“If it was up to Stephen [Miller], there would only be 100 million people in this country, and they would all look like him.”

To accomplish things like that, a lot of us are going to be removed. I don't think these are jokes, it's a pattern of statements to condition and normalize. A thing he has done over and over.

I can't consider relying on probabilistic algorithms controlled by 3rd parties to be a wise strategy.

That's pretty much all of the AI industry and clients.

We won't ever see a 2008 style price drop again. My house was going for $399K before I bought it in 2011 for $199K @ <4%.

Unfortunately we got lucky, the big players in REO weren't ready to 'close' that many packages last time. My first devops role was at a company that was working with big players to make sure next time this exact scenario presented itself the big guys will be able to deploy their cash to gobble these things up.

It's a interesting question, one I wonder now that our federal data is being exfiltrated to AI companies. If they train their models on the data; how does the law tell them to 'unlearn'?

Destroying the copies they took will be what the courts ordered, but the data will still be there.

That sovereign wealth fund with tik tok might set a good precedent; when we have to 'pour money' into these companies we can do so with stake in them held in our sovereign wealth fund.
