Interesting. I think it's possible that Infiniband will one day work its way to desktop computers, but there are a lot of players in the game that have to agree to make it work and make it popular.
It could happen I suppose, Maybe the right approach is somewhere between ignorance and hypervigilance?

So essentially the difference between something like this and Lyft is the fact that Uber has their own fleet of vehicles? I know the court hasn't made a ruling regarding Lyft (yet), but it will be interesting to see how they are interpreted. They offer a very similar service, but I wonder if this difference will allow them to avoid a similar ruling.
Eh I just don't see this going anywhere. The arguments don't seem strong to me - Big data analysis itself is not against EU Privacy laws and I just don't see how they can frame it in a way that would convince judges otherwise. Even so, the overall penalty to Facebook would be just a drop in the bucket. The financial and reputational penalty that Facebook would incur from a loss here just doesn't scale well at all.
I've sent this comic to a few friends of mine in the IT industry and we always laugh about it. Really the goal is to try to stay a little bit ahead of current Rainbow Tables and use safe browsing practices. Also hope that the websites you use actually have semi-decent security and sufficient password complexity requirements as well....there are still too many sites (I'm looking at you banking industry) that have a maximum password complexity that makes me want to cry because of how dated it is.
