joking aside, I'm working on a mobile app side project for a client that involves camera vision/machine learning in a heavy trucking maintenance context. Very low-ego, blue collar stuff, with a blend of modern tech. That and game dev in Godot engine has brought back my passion for coding greatly that I had lost over the last several years.

I started to get into game development. I started to test out chatGPT and claude to assist and it's been going great. I make so much progress and the results are fun which makes the coding process fun. The LLM covers gaps in my knowledge of math and physics and game dev strategy and architecture. But since I know how to code I can take what it gives and accomplish all kinds of things that would be much more difficult going on my own.

If samples were around and we measured them, I would guess it would have a lower amount of both CBD and THC compared to today's 'standards'. There are no standards with cannabis though. It's one name for a multitude of species and strains which are aggressively bred and hybridized with many family trees. Now with our modern understanding of the plant, CBD high and THC low species, and THC high and CBD low (more prominent) are bred, along with everything in between.

I've never been to BM, but I think there are many art/music festivals which you could go to that are more accessible and very similar themes and things happening burning man has, but on a smaller scale. I just attended my first "art/music" focused festival a few weeks ago. It had meditation/yoga/various educational workshops, artists displaying all different kinds of wares for sale, people trading and giving small things freely (think shared water, wristbands, food, trinket). There was a rock that had a sign, purposed to "give something, take something". The downsides were there too. Lots of people just there for the music/drugs/party aspect or whatever. There are probably 100's of alternatives to burning man - regional burns and music/art festivals, that are much more accessible to get to and experience. Most are 2-3 days long, and that is more like prepping for a regular camping trip than something the scale of burning man.

I did computer repair a long time ago for a friend of the family. He was all into believing this stuff and I was forced to listen to it for about an hour or so. Pretty weird stuff. He thought he could use the concept to get out of debts and speeding tickets, etc.

SquareJive was founded inside of the office that I work in. I personally knew all the founders, and even considered joining to help early on. I followed it from the idea stage to the end, and even though I was not deeply involved in it, I am very much affected by the outcome of everything. I am very upset to see the way things went at the hands of Square, Inc. It blows my mind that Square, on the surface, seems like a great service/company to work with. Yet, they go and do something like this out of public view. I wish this was getting more visibility on HN. I already started using an alternative myself and I'm going to do what I can to convince other small businesses taking mobile payments not to support Square anymore.
