I don't understand why all of these Reader replacements require signup to see the site.
I haven't tried most of them for this reason.
It's possible to monetize page views without users being signed in.
You can combine as many feeds as you want.
If you haven't added any feeds to your favorites then viewing 'My Favorites' shows all feeds by default.
Still working on the UI to show the article content and links to attached files.
I am working on making the UI more user friendly and adding OPML import/export.
It's going to be supported by advertising with a subscription service for premium features and no ads.
You should make an intelligent feed updating algorithm.
If you have at least fifty previous entries from a feed it's easy to predict fairly accurately when that feed will need to be updated again.
That's how the indexer for http://rssident.com works. Saves you tons of cpu cycles.
The UI needs work but it is very simple.
Scalability will not be an issue. It was designed from the start to be scalable. Just add servers.
I think I figured out the issue. Did you try to register with username toki.net?
Apparently the validator on the username field doesn't like periods. I will fix that.
I am working on the OPML import. That's the highest priority currently. Might take me a week or so to add it though because I am busy for the next few days.
The feedback to the user during signup and login is totally lacking. I know it needs work.
There are a lot of improvements I am going to add to the UI to make it more user friendly.

I am working on opml import and making it easier / more intuitive to add feeds.
I have had trouble with the signup form for the last few days which was the worst time for it to fail. I thought I had the bug fixed yesterday but I will double check.

The search features were built specifically for searching Craigslist.

The UI is not the most intuitive or user friendly yet but we are working on it.
It does none of the things you mention but you might like it anyway.
I built it for many of the reasons you stated. I also wanted to be able to do specific kinds of search (All craigslist telecommute Java jobs in the US -- http://rssident.com/mash/?t=job&e=telecommute).
It still needs a lot of work but I plan to keep it relatively simple and useful.
Browsing history and a bunch of other features are still being added to the UI but search already works.
