Can you tell tell me more about what happened, but in a way that for a person who struggled with the CCNA? I’ve never heard of a reconvergence event.

The problem is that sticky issues are so rarely aligned on party lines. Like science vs pseudo science. Where are that line? The scientific method? Because as we’ve seen in recent years, our poor incentive structure for scientific advancement has given rise to bullshit study’s that grab headlines, but are flawed in major ways.

Like everything in life, complex issues that have many facets are difficult to shoehorn into a right/left box. Sites like rational wiki excel at warping issues to make them simple binary choices. Life is hard, thinking is harder, you can’t outsource your judgments of the world and expect to have a clear picture of reality.

So a link to rational wiki, a massively biased website with a far left agenda... As your response to somebody bringing up Scott’s reasoning on things.

Weak sauce. That’s added nothing to the discussion of Scott Adam’s talents, hubris, ego, or cold logic skills.

But your use of ARM is not encompassing of the entire change here. Apple Silicon is the whole SoC environment. All the custom cores, power management, specialized hardware decoding parts.. etc... This is far more than an instruction set change.

It really doesn’t. It sounds super detailed and convincing to me, somebody who knows nothing to prove or refute GPS comment. If it’s a lie, god damn it’s a good one.

Let me take a crack at this.

“ When your language is so tiny and unpopular that a growth of couple of small projects in an industry your don't like can overshadow the whole existing community”

So you decide to open your argument with an insult to the community... Not a great showing.

“ If you create neutral open source tool like a programming language, you have to be OK with people using it to do stuff that you don't approve of.”

So I have to be okay with crime and scams? I can’t decide to call attention to it and recommend that people don’t let the bad influence guide the direction of the whole language?

“ I am wrong, and who am I to make decisions for other people anyway?”

Good thing this article didn’t try to do that.

Be careful, I made a switch from OPNsense to the UDM recently and it’s pretty half baked. Some menus crash 100% of the time, some features are missing randomly (you can’t use the UDM as a DNS server) Just weird little things. They are in the middle of a big transition, so I’m guessing it has to do with that.
