sony already cancelled like 5 in development live service games now since concord bombed? Certainly a lesson that is hard to learn.

I wonder if the dutch have a plan to evacuate the whole country in say, a year time, in case walling the seas no longer feasible?
Not in an emergency scenario but more like "it doesn't make sense to stay here anymore".
it does show up. Just like star wars, the toys and figurines and sometimes it even spread into the VAs, authors and other artists adjacent to the projects.
There's also LDtk. By the director of Dead Cells. https://ldtk.io/
yes it has
Nope.. maybe. Valve now requires anti cheat to be present on the store page. Highlighted in yellow along with EULAs and 3rd party login.
Apex Legends did not have kernel level anti cheat even though recently they block linux/steamdeck users. Marvel Rivals[1] does not. A store page of game with kernel level anti cheat would be Delta Force[2].
Then again, I'm not sure how true this is since I'm pretty sure its the devs responsibility. GTA5 apparently added anti cheat[3] but their store page didn't indicate any.

I dont understand why meta didnt pair up with vrchat/gamedev/game engine dev at the time. Sure they got John Carmack, but their presentation is so much worse. Its so hard not to draw comparison with the other half baked crypto metaverse.
Meanwhile Vive Index not only have Alyx but they even bring out Portal themed toybox to showcase the hardware.
Its mature and battle tested at this point. At least for 2D web games. The original/early version of Vampire Survivors is in Phaser if I'm not mistaken. Remade in Unity to make console port easier.
That's why they should hire someone else to do the leg work (That's what they used to do anyway). There isn't exactly a lot of unique things in Portal 2 compared to the original but the sheer polish and testing Valve applied to their games (when they want to) is still unmatched.
I wished they hire the Arkane team that got laid off. Put them to work on a new single player ip and let Victor Antonov add some of his design into it.
They dont have to do anything new, just make it good enough, like Titanfall 2.
I used to think so but my current android has terrible heat management. Maybe bad battery or I may have doomscrolling for too long. The battery got bloated without me noticing it.
Paper's Please as well. Blows my mind that what look like a mundane puzzle game can evoke such a strong feelings in me. And that was the beta build of the game, barely any storyline just from the mechanics and design alone.
Pretty sure overwatch got millions in its hey day. Not to mention call of duty, counter strike and the many clones of COD/CS. Though I'm not sure if the likes of Free Fire concern itself too much with the purity of competition.
I wonder if pay to win elements reduce the number of cheaters? Some of these CS clones have equipments you can buy in the lobby that offer smaller hitboxes, higher health, better gun etc. Would that offer enough convenience/highs for these people to not stoop to hacking?
They are but there's only so many talents to go around at that level. Specifically talents with the institutional knowledge.
isn't part of Pixar decline was because their talents were "poached" by Disney? Its around the time that Disney in-house team transition to 3D as well.
(poached probably not the right word but I recall reading Disney tried to jumpstart their in house studio 3D transition and have John Lasseter manage both studios)
hah, thanks for the game. It was definitely an interesting and fun experience.
Unfortunately I've to stop because my obssesive side took over. I practically check the game every hour. I cant sleep because my mind wont stop worrying about chat/trade offers, sudden attack and which planet/tech I need to focus on.
It always popped out in my mind once in a while though. I might try it again to see if I've better control of myself.
Merry x-mas, hn.
Some of you might not celebrate it but that just means I'll have to eat your share of cakes \(^_^)/
how about xcom.ufo? It looks wrong in lowercase.
Did you mean X-COM, the 1994 turn based game? Or XCOM, the 2012 reboot of the same game?
I jest but those Firaxis guys must be eager to do something about this whole thing before twitter blew up. Its around the time for the third installment of the reboot.
And who could forget their 2010 masterpiece, Alien Swarm. To this day I believe they only created it as an exercise. It's also free.
Same thing with Dead Cells and Slay the Spire. Many similar games but very few of them managed to imitate the delicate balance of carrot and stick.
I imagine you will see similar things with Icefrog, in their tenure as the custodian of DotA map in Warcraft 3. Balancing a competitive game is something that even Blizzard struggle with.
(well, Icefrog isn't burdened by the need for monetization.)
Off the top of my head, dutch and british corporation colonize a lot of lands for hundreds of years. I don't think they left the place much better than when they came.
True, you pay them instead of Godot. Unless your third party company is w4games, then you're just paying godot with extra steps.
Phaser has been consistent with their update title[1] for a decade now. Beats the mind numbingly sterile update of chrome and firefox I suppose.
Not Ghibli or Miyazaki at all but I would recommend Now And Then, Here And There as a companion piece. It's tropes and plot points are similar to FBC but seen through a very different lens.
The days of David Attenborough tangent into W40K is numbered. I know it couldn't last. Not sure if the author use AI as well for the script but it was at least decent.
There was also Half Life news parody videos using newscaster and political figures of the 2000 period. Though I think they are too niche to get noticed.
I like that they're up front about it. They also didn't pollute their own content with indistinguishable ads.
Also I've been using adblocks for so long, the only ads I see are ones that pollute the content. So yay wikipedia.
Unfortunately we also agreed to have dmca.
