As more of a C# and Java guy, I'm curious to understand something - what sort of apps do folks here build? I am very interested to hear what problems get solved with these languages today. I know there must be many use-cases, but I don't hear about them too much.

I went to the Snowflake Summit last year. And Altman sat on the stage saying LLMs would be coming up with new chip architectures and medical solutions within a year, and that AGI was around the corner. I turned on GPT and let it listen and respond to some of what he said. It replied, in less flattering terms than I am about to use, that he was -- being too optimistic. When you are bouncing around between AGI, Mickey Mouse videos, ad algorithms, and p@rn-bots, I think it's appropriate to question your motives.

I treat them as sketches, the way Martin Fowler used to describe a UML diagram. They have to be either disposable or treated as a notepad. I reconstruct the full picture only when it's necessary from "sketches". E.g., since Lucid has an infinite canvas, I'll put all my different diagrams on a single canvas, along with little diagrammatic "ideas", "notes", "brain-f$rts", etc.

For a presentation or project documentation artifacts, I can then go thru my sketches and pull bigger pictures together easily. I applied Fowler's "sketch" principle in my own tool ormle.com

Well, it's kind of like asking about streaming media. If anyone can have their own "tv show" or anyone can be their own "music producer" then the ratios are so radically altered vis-a-vis content/attention calculation. The question has never been "more means more success stories" because musicians make $.000001 per stream, so even if they stream millions of songs ... you get the point. So surely there are good apps, but the accompanying deluge makes them seem less significant.
