Every time I see a post about a note-taking app, Obsidian is mentioned in the comments. I don't know if the app is really good, or if those are just paid comments. At this point I'm not even surprised anymore, especially when conversations always end with a mention of Obsidian Sync.

Yeah, the only times I've had problems with it, it was because of WebGL. So I use Standard mode in like 2-3 sites, and Strict everywhere else. This is a bad move IMO

and THEN this year there was the high-profile issue with the laws in the UK and/or Australia or whatever that showed we were all correct

Do you have a link to that issue? I didn't heard about it (I'm from a third world country)
