Full automation leaves them free to impose infinite cost with no guarantee of anything.

Wow, this is a great way of putting it. It's draining enough to go to third- and fourth-round interviews with other humans. Doing it with a series of AI chat bots would be devastating!

I wouldn't describe the LLM's actions in the example as "solving a problem" so much as "following a well-established routine". If I were to, for instance, make a PB&J sandwich, I wouldn't say that what I'm doing is "real cooking" even if it might technically fit the definition.

If an LLM controlling a pair of robot hands was able to make a passable PB&J sandwich on my behalf, I _guess_ that could be useful to me (how much time am I really saving? is it worth the cost? etc.), but that's very different from those same robo-hands filling the role of a chef de cuisine at a fine dining restaurant, or even a cook at a diner.

As a feat of engineering, I find this very impressive, but as a product it doesn't seem to me to be very compelling.

This is such a cool project! I have it on my phone now, though I haven't had the chance to give transferring anything a shot.

Is there any possibility of eventually adding settings to do things like make the "delete all messages" button a one-press affair, instead of having to go through a confirmation? Those crucial couple of seconds could be the difference between securely deleting your info and giving it all up to Totalitarian Regime X.

The "unlimited Twitter" thought resonates with me, because that's basically how I use G+ -- short-form blogging with hash tags. I generally hop over to G+ whenever I want to talk about something that's a little more complex than the sort of thing I'd post as a Facebook status or a Twitter post.

I have a hard time with most "competitive" games (RTSs, fighters, FPSs, etc.) because people have a tendency to get a little too into them and sort of ruin them for more... I guess casual players? Like, I'm fine with playing a round or two of Generic Fighter X with my friends. What I'm not fine with is in-depth explanations of how to juggle and control vertical space while playing as Character Y. And I'm not saying this as a button-masher either -- I'm quite capable of learning combos and special moves and using them effectively. I'm just not willing to put the time into becoming crazy good at multiplayer games, which means I'll always be left in the dust by people who are willing to do so.

I dunno. I've been using Dropbox for years now, I've got it set up on all my computers, and as of right now I don't really have a pressing reason to switch. Gdrive would have to offer up something new and amazing before I'd want to change over. (And it would have to be something other than lower prices, because I don't back up enough stuff to have to pay for additional storage.)

Not quite; I believe calpaterson was asking for a summary.

Also, I understand your point, but it isn't terribly difficult to Google "precis" and figure out the definition -- and once you do, you've added a new word to your vocabulary, which is hardly ever a bad thing.
