Did Argentina get trapped in debt with IMF because a meteor hit Buenos Aires?
Did a tsunami hit Athens?
These countries burned through their reserves with no responsibility at all, reserves which were hard earned money from the population, and people demonize the IMF alone?
6 months ago the target was Russia. Basically blamed for everything. Now it's China.
Funny that the China bashing articles started to appear more frequently at the same time the US government switched aim from Russia to China too.

A puppet government? Hardly. We simply replaced Sunni for Shiite and slightly shifted things in a millennial old civil war.
When I read these type of comments I get truly scared on how the lives of non-western people don't really mean anything to lots of people.
There wasn't as slight shift in a conflict but an all out invasion causing hundreds of thousands of deaths in a few years. Millions if you consider the last 20 years.
But the US also acts through a democracy, while the countries mentioned above do not.
Crimes committed by a democracy, a theocracy or a dictatorship are crimes all the same. That is how the rest of the world sees it and it's time for the west to start seeing it too.
The USA should never be out of the equation. Nor should Europe, China or Russia.
All the actors are needed for a multi-polar world.
What everyone needs is for all of them to stop waging proxy wars, grabbing international waters and deploying nukes around each other.
Nobody denied those conflicts and the need of Israel to defend itself.
But sometime seems that only Israel has the right to defend itself, even when its not on the defense but actively bombing countries with far inferior armies / allies and they have to just accept being bombed because of events 50 years ago.
Can Iraq or Syria use the recent invasions as excuse to do whatever they want for the next 50 years too?
The concept of preemptive war has always been an excuse to actually start wars.
Considering how NATO, The Gulf Countries, China and Russia are behaving, seems that in 200 years we will be still learning how to build the wheel again. If were are lucky.
You mean war against radical religious terrorists and dictators that are not allies like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and etc?
Countries which support the Al-Nusra front, which was affiliated to Al-Qaeda, which masterminded 9/11 an event which 90% of the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia or other gulf countries and 0 from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria or Iran.
The concept of righteous crusades has been around forever and it's stunning that it still works.
The oil of these nations is extremely valuable for the US not to consume them but to acquire exploration rights with ridiculous terms, generating a huge amount of revenue, propping the US economy up keeping up the American dream.
The US has Saudi Arabia and the gulf countries on it's side, Libya in shambles, Venezuela and Iran isolated. That gives the US a lot of power on the energy market.
So there it is, control over oil = money + power.
What else people start wars for?
Hamas is bombing Israel, not the Syrian Army.
Hamas chose Saudi Arabia's and Qatar's side on the Syrian conflict and that lead to Assad breaking relations with them.
Syria took it as a betrayal so I doubt they would do anything to help Hamas.
Israel is not bombing Syria to defend itself. Syria never had and nor will have the capability to do anything to Israel.
The reason Israel have been bombing Syria is the same reason Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, USA, UK, France, Australia and the rest of the coalition are doing it too: regime change.
They want to replace Assad with a puppet, like Hariri in Lebanon, so they can all push their own agendas in the region.
And on the other side Russia, Iran and Hezbollah jumped in Assad's rescue to counter that move.
They are ALL pushing their own interests at the expense of Syrian lives so please drop this outrageous "defending itself" narrative and admit all actors of both sides are war criminals with blood on their hands.
With John Bolton around don't keep your hopes up. Iran's humanitarian invasion is just around the corner.

If I had to move to one the 3 would be the US for sure.
I find China a bit chaotic and Russia too conservative for me (although St. Petersbourg seemed a really cool place).
I'm very critic of the US government, especially regarding foreign policy, but that does not mean I have a problem with regular Americans at all.
On the contrary there are lots o very important initiatives started by Americans. I just wish the focus of the government would shift to them.
Lets not mention the torture program, which the current head of CIA took part.
Or the "humanitarian" invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia and Syria without UN Security Council mandate. Especially Lybya, which is much more democratic now with it's slave markets.
Or the protectionism that goes against the WTO treaties.
Or by weaponizing the dollar, which is supposed to be the world's reserve currency, by the means of sanctions.

China, Russia and the US are all draconian regimes. Some target it's own people, other target people overseas and others target both.
The difference is that one has holywood at it's side to show them saving the world time and time again from aliens, metheors and vile russians / nazis. And people just treat the US government as the good heart kid that makes a few mistakes.

And the most frustrating thing is that even if there is irrefutable proof they murdered the journalist, there is not much the US could do.
If the US apply sanctions the maniacs from SA could threaten to stop buying weapons and using the dollar to sell it's oil.
They could also move investments to Russia or China and try to reach common ground with Iran. Literally making a monumental amount of money and American lives spent on wars in middle east in the last 20 years to be for nothing.
I guess the US government will have to propose some kind of "punishment" that SA is willing to take without hurting their fragile feelings.

Are you working with outdated technologies?
If so I would suggest start learning new technologies, start adding simple projects to you github and writing on linedin.
Seems like too much but just start one thing at a time. This way you will dramatically increase your changes of finding another remote when when necessary.
But in the end of the day you also need a plan B, which is money saved and some idea of where to go in case you need to move back to the city to find a regular job.

I answered yes, the benefits I see in doing it and that I feel confident that I (me, not anyone else) can find another similar job.

Finally, I'll say that it has been my experience that getting a remote job is much easier when you already have a remote job.
Yep. After I had proven experience working remotely with a known company the offers started to come more frequently.
Having an active Github and writing on Medium / Linkedin also helps a lot.
Why do you feel confident you can easily find other remote jobs with the same pay / benefits / work responsibilities / career opportunities / etc., if your current role goes bad?
By constantly being invited to interviews for similar remote jobs with similar pay.

Wrong. Lots of companies that do not advertise remote jobs are willing to accept because they struggle to find people.
One advertised a full-time local role in Belgium. I sent an e-mail telling that if they accept remote work I'm game. I've been in several interviews in the past doing this.
They flew me there just for the interview... which I failed.
I currently work for a startup in Silicon Valley, half of the company is remote and we are shipping features consistently.
Maybe if you’re willing to compromise on everything else, then you can quickly switch to another remote job in an emergency.
In my opinion this should be everyone mindset. I've seen my share of people married to big tech companies being fired on the first crisis and struggling to find jobs, because they only knew what the company asked them to do.
And on the worst case scenario I can rent my house and move back to the capital.
There is no such thing as job security in the tech scene today. Control you cost of living, save money, invest money and try to keep yourself reasonably updated with the latest technologies.
