This is negotiable. But you shouldn't necessarily be the one to negotiate it, so you should probably start talking to your own lawyer (not the company's).
There's a huge difference between doing that on the front page and doing that on an article that's already 3 days old.
S-plus: stats needs a real but dedicated language R: S-plus isn't free or enough like lisp
