why are some apple users so cringey?

I have seen many people downplaying the complexity of a datetime library.
Where? Maybe people downplay storing dates but not making a library.
Ugh this bickering is like reddit. Keep it off hacker news!
Yeah not sure about that. I purchased ST recently and because VS Code is so slow.
I wish Firefox would have left the old extension abilities. They could have easily added the WebExtensions standard to allow for cross-browser compatibility and not removed the old functionality.
Google's results are filled with just as much spam, fake listing sites that just link to Amazon, and junk products
According to a comment above, these routers require an admin password change when setup with no way around that.
Amazon's Chat, it's their Slack or Teams equivalent
Doesn't the opening site have access to the child window/tab in Javascript? Can't it set events to fire when the window is closed?
Wasn't ffmpeg compiled using Web Assembly? So you could make a web app out of this.
Same with Samsung Internet on Android
Unfortunate? That guy has done some bad things.
and get up earlier anyway.
Yeah, no thanks. This isn't an easy task for many people. Some people just naturally find it easier to wake up and get going in the morning. But there is a significant portion of people where that just doesn't happen for them. I've tried many different methods to try to be a "morning person" but it's as if my body naturally doesn't. My SO is the exact same way, and was before I knew them.

Is it just me or has HN seen a huge influx of less-than-the-current-average "computer intelligence" in the last 6 months?
Seems like the creator of Magisk Manager could not get around Android's implementation: https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/1245956080779198464?s=1...
Why hasn't there been any resistance to Apple and the way they treat developers? I see so many people complaining about very unfair treatment by Apple on HN, but never anyone doing anything about it. I know it's likely impossible to influence a company like Apple, but why don't people show their disdain somehow?
Is it irrational for me to not want to buy an iPhone due to Apple's extreme control of the ecosystem?
I really can't put what I want on my Android phone.
To be fair, that is only valid at face value. Yes, you yourself might not be able to do that technically, but it is quite easy and flat out possible compared to an iPhone.
They just do, just like they bypass HTTPS warnings in browsers.
How could you possibly know this, other than anecdotally?
Which third cloud provider aren't you considering, and why? Is it azure?
I had no idea Github had a "trending" mechanism.
Sounds like this article doesn't apply to you then.
Which is what it's supposed to be for.
That's just your opinion. Clearly people have been using github for discovering new software and more. I have found plenty of cool projects through the sites features.
Furthermore, not everyone is positively buoyant. The less fat one has, especially if not wearing diving suit, the more likely staying afloat/level to become harder.
I'm not sure if it is just me, but I could not understand this at all. Do you mind rephrasing it? Which type of person has a harder time stating afloat?
It's nonsense. I don't understand all these people ripping on Firefox for absolutely ridiculous reasons. Lack of MIDI support for a 6 year old? Being upset Firefox uses telemetry to improve their product? A minor difference in developer tool design? HN sure has become filled with negativity instead of constructive criticism.
He means: another reason rust users love it so much is because they are not being forced to use it
Wow, fascinating website. When you are selecting Atlas or Falcon, are those the orbits of the leftover second stages? If so, why are some of their orbits so large? Were they placing a satellite that far out?
See this tweet chain from the Magisk author. It seems Google might enable remote attestation at some point like they did for a short period during this tweet, defeating MagiskHide.

Who is referring to getting kicked off HN? I believe the post you're responding to, which said "If you're going to run a platform like this and capriciously threaten to kick people off of it," -- the "it" referred to Google.
Restic is great. The only part I don't like is that you are forced to use a password. For local backups it's unnecessary and if you forget the password all your data is lost.
That's the most minimal description of VS Code...
