  Technologies: 4.5 years of C++ experience working on Windows Operating Systems at MSFT, mainly on imaging libraries (think PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP), GPU emulation (WARP), and performance telemetry for intensive workloads. 2 years of experience with web (full stack w/ exposure to NodeJS, React, PostgresSQL, GraphQL, JQuery, and various AWS support products like SNS, SQS, Redis, and S3). Additional personal work on game design, and LLM AIs.

Children of alumni no longer have admissions edge at Carnegie Mellon, Pitt 3 years ago

I think the argument is worth considering. At the same time, it seems easier in the age of internet for kids of merit to attract sources of funding, and I expect funding will still find their way towards massive untapped concentrations of merit.

I'm interested in tech that help foster a better social fabric (I believe loneliness is a big problem in modern world), so I'm especially in apps with focus on communication and community.
