There is saying (at least in spanish): "You are owner of your silence and slave of your words".

Maybe you need your moderate your claiming before publishing something that could cause several damage to someone (That is why most news websites use potential words when publishing something: reported/may/thought/potentially/etc...).

First you are tightly coupling your CI to your developers machine, that in itself is already a pretty bad idea. Second, if one employee wants to install htop on their machine, then every employee will have to install it, this can quickly become a problem when you have 500+ developers. Third, I think you missed the first part on the second quote, you are FORCING every developer to not only use linux but also to use one distribution that is pretty niche.

I dont think gpu power is relevant for people installing linux on their m1/2 as long as it can play youtube at 4k.

I dont because of documentation. I know I can google anything about ubuntu and I dont want to spend a lot of time figuring it out myself. Safe reason I moved back to x86 from ARM, had a lot of issues with ZFS on a Pi4b.

Specifically about Debian. I find more than 1 year old versions pretty outdated. I couldn't try Go generics because the version was too old... that pissed me off.
