inkl has pretty good variety of news sources for a reasonable subscription fee, i subbed for years then started using apple news. Unfortunately i cannot recommend inkl because you have to email support to cancel your subscription, they offer a 50% discount if you try to cancel but that business practice of sign up with one click, email support to cancel i cannot condone.

Fatigue is why we use steel for everything, no other alloys have the practical strength and infinite life.

imo the best way to combat this is to answer the call and waste as much of the scammers time as possible. Call spamming only scales because most people ignore or hangup immediately. If you waste 30seconds of a scammers time thats 30 more people they cant call. And that 30 seconds costs THEM money. I just answer say “hi” to start the recording and leave the phone on my desk until they hangup. Perhaps i dont completely understand the backend but if more people wasted the scammers time it would quickly become too expensive for them to continue.

only the exterior blankets would have such extreme temperature cycles, the inner aluminum hull would have a much more stable temperature. The diurnal would be much more benign. Still enough for CTE and fatigue to cause a failure.

What is a cleanroom's stated goal? Implying the cleanroom's only purpose is for reducing the risk of forward contamination.

Spacecraft will be manufactured in a cleanroom regardless of effectiveness at stopping microbial forward contamination. Foreign Object Debris, payload and bus contamination during manufacture are the primary concerns. For example, dust or condensate on an optical payload would ruin a Discovery class mission.

The stated goal of a clean room is for quality control, reducing microorganism forward contamination is a secondary.

It really is. The bottom line is these sensors can scale to small sizes unlike watch batteries enabling remote sensing and integrated manufacturing. Think temperature sensors inside that watch battery. Strain sensors in existing and future infrastructure to monitor uninspectable areas for >50 years. There are a lot of novel applications.

Same principle in that they both use electromagnetism, yes. But Qi and similar wireless charging using inductively couples coils. WISP power is generated from radio waves absorbed by the antenna generating a small current then boosted to a usable voltage for a low power microcontroller. The microcontroller can control the impedence of the antenna, changing the backscatter of the antenna, measure the change in backscatter you can get your 1s and 0s out of the sensor!

edit: wifi router could power these sensors, just a limited range.

what is there to attack? if someone is in range to get the backscattered signal they can just see what the camera is looking at...its 16ft LOS, for privacy concerns at such low powers any walls would attenuate the backscatter.
