From what we know this far it’s quite easy to be on Apples side in this particular question, right?

I think XR would prefer your solution as well. Still I can understand young people’s frustration when we after years and years of knowing about climate change do so little and so few laws of this type are enacted.
But I agree that their strategy is lacking. It would probably be easier to get people in general to support it if it didn’t affect them directly, sadly.
Great. Sounds like a classic start of any post apocalyptic horror movie.
What would happen if they mass distilled one of the really large local models like GLM 700b or deepseek 1.6t?
Can you explain why you think xenophobia is low? My experience as a swed is that xenophobia and trying to avoid immigration often go hand in hand. You do not have a large Swiss right populist semi racist party like most other European countries have?
It mounts specified directories into the vm from what I remember
Maybe the difference is that just reading Wikipedia only help you part of the way. While an LLM could help you step by step (e2e) producing a functional weapon. And setting a more complex rule where claude tells you some things about this and not other is probably a lot more work for little gain?
But I have no idea. Just guessing here.
I think you should consider the possibility that people who ”don’t mention it” does so because we don’t see the science pointing in that direction.
Thanks a million!
Which exact model are you using? And with which parameters and quant? And on what hardware? Are you using any specific MCPs or other tools to optimize performance like context-mode or dynamic context pruning? I’ve used local models a reasonable amount before but I’m just starting out with opencode. Haven’t had great results yet but really want this to work for simpler tasks. My opencode newly installed is also having iterm on 100% cpu in idle. :/
Yeah Apple is smart enough to know that large conspiracies tend to leak sooner or later. Your solution would absolutely have been my choice if I wanted to slow down old iPhones, and I’m quite sure the leadership at Apple are smarter than me.
But wasn’t that just a setting changing it to default to fn? It was some time since I last used them…
Don’t use those expensive escrow services, much cheaper to keep your own crows!
I used to be mostly at high/xhigh but now at medium I think it actually performs quite well both on results and token usage.
Does gemma work better than qwen3 in your experience?
That I can agree on. The right for children to by energy drinks is something different for me.
You and I have very different ideas of dystopia.
I also have things I want to change in gatekeeper, but that feature is not one of them. Just gut feeling but I would say 110% of all users, would just click ”start” on every unsigned app if it was that easy.
See previous days articles. Agentic coding. Going from 1b annual commits to estimated 14b or more from one year to another.
I agree, insane.
Where is the music video for us who only want to learn about low level hardware through that medium?

I need this too, and looked quite a lot on it a year ago. I haven’t had time to check out the recent developments with Docker Model Runner (vllm-metal) or podman libkrun. Did neither of those work for you?
Yeah, I eat beans all the time and don’t have any reaction to them. Anecdata but in my experience only people who eat very little beans react to them. But I haven’t researched it.
Obviously it happens but I think you’ll have a hard time arguing that worker rights are as bad in the EU as in the US.
ITUC Global Rights Index (2025)
Europe: 2.78 Nordics: 1.0–1.2 Western Europe: 2.0–2.3
Americas: 3.68 United States: 4
I couldn’t find per state US numbers but the difference is obviously huge.
Solve our energy problems first? How would decreasing cattle stop work on improving our energy system? I think a lot points to that we need to do both (and yesterday). It’s not like agriculture is a small part of our greenhouse gas emissions (25-35% globally).
That evil laughter from a disobedient tty. :(
I guess that depends on what you put into the word "success". I dont believe that great design work or great products and high market cap has ever been that related to each other.
With that said I dont think Steve built Apple alone either. And i think they have done some great things after his death as well.
This in a larger perspective at least, IS a problem for NGO:s from what i know. That donors seems to be much more careful where they money go when its in the form of a donation. I dont know about open source project specifics here. I totally get what you mean and probably mostly agree as well, but the money you give to corporations have consequences as well. You can for example fund a company you have strong moral disagreements with without knowing or miss a company that you would want to support for the opposite reasons.
With that said I also think we should expect more then "it helps fund the development". Its not that difficult to write a couple paragraphs more and be a little more specific. Then again, maybe they get so little in donations that they cant really say how the money will be used and its more of a "buy me a beer" type of thing to keep the developers happy. Unless suddenly people start giving more and a developer actually could invest more hours in the project.
Security issues aside, I really like the idea of a common open database with this kind of agent docs. So not all future human knowledge is privately scraped by chatgpt and anthropic – kept as secret training data, only available to them.
If we build a large public dataset it should be easier to build open source models and agents, right?
Can you tell me about your favorite use cases?
