Remembering back to when I was a kid, Scratch was absolutely fantastic, and definitely helped me put me on the path I am today. Fantastic work.

With that said (and apologies on using the power of HN here), I've been trying to get in touch with Scratch support to have an old account of mine deleted, but I can't ever seem to get a reply. Would you happen to know who to get in touch with, other than the contact form?

As someone sitting kinda on the outside of fintech/finance, it just feels like there's a lot less value add and market oversaturation these days from "hipster app with Bancorp account".

I previously had Simple (rest in peace), and was totally okay with it, but it clearly wasn't worth it to BBVA/PNC. I went to SoFi just because they're making moves to get their own charter, rather than sitting with Bancorp.

Now you've got Robinhood, Credit Karma, Chime, etc etc all running Bancorp backing accounts so really there's no fundamental difference between any of them.

CoD games do use different apps.

Steam has apps, packages, and depots.

Yes, it puts 1Password as the only point of failure iff 1Password security is compromised. This would require knowing my Master Password, my Secret Key, and 2FA with either my OTP from Google Authenticator or a Yubikey to open the vault on a new device, or knowing my master password on a device that I already have 1Password set up on.

On the flip side however, for anyone who _doesn't_ know I use 1Password (oops), any credential stuffing attack or password leak is not likely to get anywhere, as they're not going to be attacking my 1Password vault.

It's just using the accessibility privileges to look at the contents of the screen like a screen reader would, and copy the shown code. This isn't quite as advanced as "stealing your seeds".

If you’re hitting cloudflare, it’s just hitting the regular endpoint so no user identifying information.

I think the implication is that an unlinked and appropriately aged Github/HN account can be compromised to get 20 bucks by compromising and linking.

It's the problem with leaning into a niche viewpoint. You have to continue to lean harder and harder into that viewpoint as the times change in order to keep the people who also believe in that viewpoint supporting you.

Bad idea in search of good idea, start with power, some sort of bumper car style power distribution system. You could do something similar to the newer floor pick up system, where the ceiling has a fine grid of + and - terminal rails, and the carts have hookups designed to always be touching at least 1 of each polarity, and then normalize the power.

Agreed. I don't personally have any Nest hardware in my home, but I do have the app on my phone for family members' home, and the app is definitely kind of meh at best.

For all the backlash Google has gotten lately, it really does seem like they're trying to be more open with their privacy controls lately (disabling the option to turn off the camera light), as well as encouraging more security.

Nest hardware will still work just fine?
