Thank you! A project like this was on my wishlist for a long time. Colleagues looked at me like I'm weird when I was saying containers without a VM should be possible on macOS. I switched to a Linux laptop because I couldn't stand the experience of working with Docker on macos.

I wonder if some of the macOS sandboxing features can be used instead of relying solely on the JIT

There are plenty of dual citizens that would proudly admit that their first loyalty is to Israel.

Plenty of dual citizens that are not Israeli citizens and would admit the same thing, but we don't go around throwing such accusations at them.

this example seems to apply to accusing any individual.

Does it? It would be accusing the individual just because they are part of a certain group.

But while it sounds good on the surface, it doesn't take much digging to show it's silly. If you store any kind of data about a visitor to make their life more convenient, is that tracking? Shopping carts? Notification preferences? etc.

A tracking warning a login/sign up would be enough. No need to ask for cookie consent at every visit. It would just be part of the typical T&C.

It's actually a bit ironic to ask visitors if it's ok to track them. If they say no, you have to track them to at least remember that choice. Easily solved with a cookie that says "don't track". If cookie is set, don't track anything.

"Prevent" is a strong word. I would say that the best thing EU can do is facilitate conditions that would encourage ASML to stay home. Something obviously isn't going well if ASML can't expand within NL/EU and putting any further restrictions would scare businesses off.

Does XNU have such namespacing functionality across all its interfaces?

I don't think so, but some Docker features could be implemented using XNU sandboxing AFAIK

Furthermore, the existing container ecosystem assumes a Linux syscall interface. [1]. Does macOS provide that? I expect not.

This project is about running macOS containers on macOS. It's not about running Linux containers.

Schengen and Euro definitely put Croatia on my list of destinations. It’s much more comfortable to travel without having to bother with exchange rates.

No passport control at the airport is also a nice bonus. I can’t describe that feeling when I travel to another country without going through border checks, it’s so liberating.
