How is anyone to say what most of the activity of these agencies are without any oversight. That’s why the leaks happened in the first place, it was the only way to say ‘hey we need more controls on this stuff’. Unless you’re suggesting that was going to happen anyway somehow?
This is going to be interesting for apps obeying desktop ui settings. But running any software on any platform might make up for it.

I've recently started thinking of businesses in similar terms to core game loops. Deep in the guts of every successful business there is one (or more) loops that keep the rest going. When I next try something i'll start with the loop.

I can see charging being built directly into parking buildings/apartment carparks and factored into the parking cost. Would be pretty convenient always being fully charged when setting out.
At this stage parking buildings have maybe 4 chargers but 1 is out of order and the other 3 are in use. But that's a scaling issue.
Will be interesting when parking buildings start drawing megawatts overnight though.

Personal observation - assuming everyone is out to get everyone else is a cultural thing that wasnt such a concern until quite recently. It's a bit like looking at certain phrases in common use 70 years ago and wondering why anyone would use them.

That's fair - however I've been hosting some of these sites since 2014 on bare metal VPS with minimal issues (the occasional upgrade breaking a theme). A lot of WP issues come down to server settings / bad plugins over WP itself. I suspect WP Engine is largely charging that much to support any WP setup no matter how insecure.
Putting in a word for Sanity CMS, it's like contentful but more programmatic. It also doesn't need so much of the constant 'publish draft' button clicking.
I looked into WP Engine recently to see if I could transfer some older client websites, it's eye wateringly expensive!

This just improved the lives of 16 million people. That is not insignificant. And that's assuming 16 million people would have the same condition.
This also might be underestimating the number of false positives doctors already deal with and that these devices may actually lower that number.
Further, such an influx would have knock-on effects on unrelated patients, whose care would suffer due to the severe lack of resources.
Hypothetically, let's assume over a long period of time new devices are alerting users to possible medical conditions. Those appointments are paid for (I'm guessing). Will that money not fund more availability over time? The supply of doctors is not supposed to be fixed.
there _are_ devices that can detect conditions that 5% of the population has _and_ have far fewer false positives - X-rays, CT scans, MRI.

Some of the hardest jobs are underpaid, and level of education means less than it used to. Nurses and scientists for example. Partner is a microbiologist PHD graduate and starting salary wouldn't be much different my self taught first coding job - not that getting a job right now is really possible anyway.
