Looks cool! Thoughts on exposing this through a cli or mcp for local knowledge access for agents? For example, I use Claude Code for research and I have a local corpus of PDFs that I would like to make available as additional domain-specific information that Claude can use in addition to what it has in Opus or whatever model I'm using.
My 2021 MBP 16" M1 Max doesn't get hot with the USB-C power connected to the left side. Unknown if that's still an issue with the Air.

While you can used the premium features without paying, I would strongly urge you to pay for a license anyway. It doesn't cost much and the Bitwarden folks are a small team doing a great product. I really like bitwarden_rs and wish the official server would adopt it or something similar. The official server is pretty darn heavy.
I've had good success with Anchore in the past, and yeah, missing Gatekeeper is bizarre.

I work at Apple in engineering. User data privacy is a VERY big deal and something which is taken really seriously. It is not just marketing lip service.
Is Apple perfect? No, of course not. Are there things I think they should do better? Yes. E2E encryption with user keys stored in Secure Enclave, etc, etc. However, for Joe Consumer, I think they make the most secure, easiest to use platform.
In China, all your data belongs to China. That is simply the way it is if you choose to do business there. You might point fingers at Apple and other companies who operate there, but China is a huge market. The Chinese people know their data is all backdoored, so there is no coverup or obfuscation.

Yes, Bitwarden can be self-hosted. It is also a really nice secret management tool for humans, although it does have a CLI and API which can be used for machines.
How often does your network disconnect? Sure, it would be great if the backend storage system was better at handling atomic operations, but I don't think this is really a huge problem assuming you're not using a really crappy network.
I run Calibre with the library mounted from a NAS. Works fine for my ~2000 book collection. Not as speedy as local SSD, but it is ok.

If you are not in NYC, SF, SEA, etc you will have a much harder time getting those numbers. There are some remote roles at that level, but not too many. As above, the jobs are out there, but you need to be in the right location and have the right mix of skills and experience. Levels.fyi and Blind are useful resources for uncovering information on what companies are paying.
While keepassx is a great tool, Bitwarden is a much more capable product which solves many more use cases than the single device/single user one.
Yes, the dependency on mssql is a bummer, but it is freely available and is a robust db system. And, as other have pointed out, there are alternate backends you can run if you want to forego support from the vendor.

We didn't fly when the kids were little. Amazingly rude to subject many other people to that when they're already crammed into the noisy, cramped, metal can with no escape. Telling someone to put on headphones because of the noise or just deal with it when your kid is kicking the seat is obnoxious. You want to fly with them? Buy a private flight.
@nickstinemates Is there any ETA for the release of 2.0? We'er running 1.x now and were seriously looking at dropping it for a straight Kubernetes cluster, but if 2.0 will be ready soon enough...
